Vercel
Vercel is a cloud platform for building and hosting websites and web apps, and the company behind the Next.js framework. It was founded in San Francisco in 2015 as ZEIT and renamed in 2020. Vercel sells domains inside its dashboard, so a domain can be bought and connected to a project in one place, with renewals charged to the card on the account.

Vercel MCP
Lemon Domains is the unofficial Vercel MCP server. Connect your Vercel account by API once, and Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client can answer questions about your Vercel domains next to the domains you hold at every other registrar. Connections start read only, so your AI changes only what you allow.
- “Which of my Vercel domains expire in the next 60 days?”
- “Is auto-renew on for every domain at Vercel?”
- “Did the nameservers change on any of my Vercel domains this week?”

Transferring a domain away from Vercel
In the dashboard's Domains tab, open the menu next to the domain and choose the transfer out option, which shows the authorization code. Only team owners can do this.
Give the code to the new registrar to start the transfer. Most extensions can't move within 60 days of registration or a previous transfer. Vercel's guide
Vercel in Lemon Domains
Connect Vercel with an API key and every Vercel domain joins your other registrars in one list, syncs once a day, and is there for your AI through MCP, the API and the CLI.
- How it connects
- Daily sync by API key
- Get an API key
- Vercel API settings
- Lemon Domains IP addresses
- 2.31.94.66

Connect Vercel to Lemon Domains
Three steps: create a read-only API key at Vercel, add it to Lemon Domains, and your domains sync once a day from then on. Connect as many Vercel accounts as you have.
Create a read-only API key at Vercel
Vercel tokens cannot be made read-only. Scope the token to just the team that owns your domains, give it an expiration date, and use it only for Lemon Domains so you can revoke it on its own.
- 1Sign in to Vercel and open Account Settings → Tokens.
- 2Create a token named “Lemon Domains”. Set its scope to the team (or personal account) that owns your domains, and choose an expiration date.
- 3Copy the token. It is only shown once.
- 4If the domains belong to a team, also copy the Team ID from Team Settings → General.
Add it to Lemon Domains
- 1Sign in to Lemon Domains (it's free), open Connections and choose Vercel.
- 2Give the connection a friendly name, like “Vercel personal” or “Vercel clients”. Connect each Vercel account separately.
- 3Paste your access token.
- 4Click Test connection. Lemon Domains checks the API key and shows how many domains it can see, without saving anything.
- 5Tick the checkbox to confirm you understand the risks, pick the project new domains go into, and click Connect and import. Your domains appear straight away and sync once a day after that.
What Lemon Domains reads
- Domain names (including internationalised names)
- Status, such as active, expired or pending transfer
- Expiry and registration dates
- Whether auto-renew is on
- Nameservers
Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests to Vercel: each integration has a fixed list of read-only calls it may make, so it never renews, transfers or changes a domain. Your API key is encrypted at rest and never shown again.
If something goes wrong
- Vercel rejects the API key
- Copy it again with no spaces at either end. Some registrars only show the secret once, so create a new key if you didn't save it.
- The key has an IP restriction
- Lemon Domains connects from 2.31.94.66. Add it to the API key's allowed IPs, or remove the restriction.
- Some domains are missing
- Make sure the API key belongs to the Vercel account (or sub-account) that holds those domains. Connect each account separately.
Rather not use an API key? Import by paste or CSV
Copy your list from the Vercel portal, paste it into Lemon Domains, and you're done. Re-import any time to refresh. Paste or CSV import needs no Vercel credentials at all.
- 1Open your Vercel account at vercel.com and go to the domain list.
- 2If the list paginates, switch to "show all" or the largest page size so every Vercel domain is visible.
- 3Copy the visible list, or export to CSV if Vercel offers it from the account area.
- 4In Lemon Domains, click Import, paste the list or upload the CSV, and map the columns. Lemon Domains previews everything before it commits.
- 5Give the registrar account a friendly label (for example "Vercel personal" or "Vercel client work") so sub-accounts stay distinct.

Frequently asked questions
Does Lemon Domains support Vercel domains?
Yes. Connect your Vercel account with an API key and Lemon Domains syncs your domains automatically once a day. You can also import by pasting your domain list from the Vercel dashboard or uploading a CSV export. Multiple Vercel accounts are supported with friendly labels so sub-accounts stay distinct in the unified portfolio.
How do I get a Vercel API key?
Sign in to Vercel and open Account Settings → Tokens. Create a token named “Lemon Domains”. Set its scope to the team (or personal account) that owns your domains, and choose an expiration date. Copy the token. It is only shown once. If the domains belong to a team, also copy the Team ID from Team Settings → General. Vercel tokens cannot be made read-only. Scope the token to just the team that owns your domains, give it an expiration date, and use it only for Lemon Domains so you can revoke it on its own.
Do I need to share my Vercel password?
No. Connecting by API uses an API key you create at Vercel, not your password. Vercel tokens cannot be made read-only. Scope the token to just the team that owns your domains, give it an expiration date, and use it only for Lemon Domains so you can revoke it on its own. Keys are encrypted at rest. Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests. Or skip the API and paste your list or upload a CSV.
Can I track multiple Vercel accounts?
Yes. Add one connection per Vercel account, each with its own friendly name. Personal and business logins, sub-accounts, and client accounts all sit side by side in one dashboard.
Does Lemon Domains renew my Vercel domains?
No. Renewal still happens at Vercel. Lemon Domains tracks expiry dates and auto-renew status so you know exactly when to act, but the renewal button stays at Vercel.
Can AI assistants query my Vercel domains?
Yes. The Lemon Domains MCP server lets ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and any MCP client query your full portfolio, including Vercel domains, in plain English. Choose read-only or read-and-write access for each token.
Is Vercel ICANN-accredited?
Vercel is not on the ICANN list of accredited registrars. It registers domains through another registrar's accreditation.
Is there an MCP server for Vercel domains?
Yes. Lemon Domains connects to Vercel by API and serves your Vercel domains through its remote MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and any MCP client can answer questions about them. It is independent of Vercel and not affiliated with it, so the same connection also covers your domains at every other registrar.
Does Vercel have an API?
Yes. Lemon Domains connects to Vercel by API and syncs your domain list every day, with expiry dates and renewal settings. Your AI assistant can then answer questions about those domains through the Lemon Domains MCP server.
What domain extensions does Vercel sell?
Vercel's price list has 551 extensions: 484 generic, 43 country-code and 24 second-level, as of October 2026. They include .com, .net, .org, .io, .ai, .co, .app, .dev and .xyz. The full list is on this page.
Does Vercel include WHOIS privacy?
Yes. Vercel hides your contact details in the public record at no extra cost, for the extensions whose registry allows it. Some country-code extensions, such as .us, don't allow privacy at all.
How do I contact Vercel support?
Vercel offers support by help center. Its contact page is https://vercel.com/docs/domains/working-with-domains.
What does Vercel offer besides domain names?
DNS hosting, Web hosting and SSL certificates.
How do I transfer a domain away from Vercel?
In the dashboard's Domains tab, open the menu next to the domain and choose the transfer out option, which shows the authorization code. Only team owners can do this. Then give the code to the new registrar to start the transfer.
