Spaceship MCP

Lemon Domains is the unofficial Spaceship MCP server. Connect your Spaceship account by API once, and Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client can answer questions about your Spaceship domains next to the domains you hold at every other registrar. Connections start read only, so your AI changes only what you allow.

  • “Which of my Spaceship domains expire in the next 60 days?”
  • “Is auto-renew on for every domain at Spaceship?”
  • “Did the nameservers change on any of my Spaceship domains this week?”

Transferring a domain away from Spaceship

In Domain Manager, open the domain, go to Transfer, choose Transfer domain and Unlock domain, then copy the authorization code.

Give the code to the new registrar to start the transfer. Most extensions can't move within 60 days of registration or a previous transfer.

Spaceship in Lemon Domains

Connect Spaceship with an API key and every Spaceship domain joins your other registrars in one list, syncs once a day, and is there for your AI through MCP, the API and the CLI.

Connect Spaceship to Lemon Domains

Three steps: create a read-only API key at Spaceship, add it to Lemon Domains, and your domains sync once a day from then on. Connect as many Spaceship accounts as you have.

Step 1

Create a read-only API key at Spaceship

Give it the least access you can

Give the key only the domains:read permission.

  1. 1Sign in to Spaceship and open API Manager.
  2. 2Create a new API key named “Lemon Domains”.
  3. 3Under permissions, tick only “domains:read”.
  4. 4Copy the API key and the API secret. Both are needed. The secret is only shown once.

Open Spaceship API settings

Step 2

Add it to Lemon Domains

  1. 1Sign in to Lemon Domains (it's free), open Connections and choose Spaceship.
  2. 2Give the connection a friendly name, like “Spaceship personal” or “Spaceship clients”. Connect each Spaceship account separately.
  3. 3Paste your api key and api secret.
  4. 4Click Test connection. Lemon Domains checks the API key and shows how many domains it can see, without saving anything.
  5. 5Tick the checkbox to confirm you understand the risks, pick the project new domains go into, and click Connect and import. Your domains appear straight away and sync once a day after that.
Step 3

What Lemon Domains reads

Synced once a day
  • Domain names (including internationalised names)
  • Status, such as active, expired or pending transfer
  • Expiry and registration dates
  • Whether auto-renew is on
  • Nameservers
  • Transfer lock
  • WHOIS privacy
Read only unless you choose

Each connection is Read only or Can make changes, and you pick. Read only sends Spaceship read requests and nothing else. Can make changes also lets you, your Editors and AI apps you allow turn auto-renew and the transfer lock on or off and change nameservers from Lemon Domains, from a fixed list of calls. It never renews, transfers or deletes a domain. Every change is emailed to Owners and can be undone. Your API key is encrypted at rest and never shown again.

If something goes wrong

Spaceship rejects the API key
Copy it again with no spaces at either end. Some registrars only show the secret once, so create a new key if you didn't save it.
The key has an IP restriction
Lemon Domains connects from 2.31.94.66. Add it to the API key's allowed IPs, or remove the restriction.
Some domains are missing
Make sure the API key belongs to the Spaceship account (or sub-account) that holds those domains. Connect each account separately.

Rather not use an API key? Import by paste or CSV

Copy your list from the Spaceship portal, paste it into Lemon Domains, and you're done. Re-import any time to refresh. Paste or CSV import needs no Spaceship credentials at all.

Open your Spaceship domain manager

  1. 1Open your Spaceship account at spaceship.com and go to the domain list.
  2. 2If the list paginates, switch to "show all" or the largest page size so every Spaceship domain is visible.
  3. 3Copy the visible list, or export to CSV if Spaceship offers it from the account area.
  4. 4In Lemon Domains, click Import, paste the list or upload the CSV, and map the columns. Lemon Domains previews everything before it commits.
  5. 5Give the registrar account a friendly label (for example "Spaceship personal" or "Spaceship client work") so sub-accounts stay distinct.

Frequently asked questions

Does Lemon Domains support Spaceship domains?

Yes. Connect your Spaceship account with an API key and Lemon Domains syncs your domains automatically once a day. You can also import by pasting your domain list from the Spaceship dashboard or uploading a CSV export. Multiple Spaceship accounts are supported with friendly labels so sub-accounts stay distinct in the unified portfolio.

How do I get a Spaceship API key?

Sign in to Spaceship and open API Manager. Create a new API key named “Lemon Domains”. Under permissions, tick only “domains:read”. Copy the API key and the API secret. Both are needed. The secret is only shown once. Give the key only the domains:read permission.

Do I need to share my Spaceship password?

No. Connecting by API uses an API key you create at Spaceship, not your password. Give the key only the domains:read permission. Keys are encrypted at rest. Lemon Domains only sends read requests unless you set the connection to Can make changes, which also lets you turn auto-renew and the transfer lock on or off and change nameservers from Lemon Domains. Or skip the API and paste your list or upload a CSV.

Can I track multiple Spaceship accounts?

Yes. Add one connection per Spaceship account, each with its own friendly name. Personal and business logins, sub-accounts, and client accounts all sit side by side in one dashboard.

Does Lemon Domains renew my Spaceship domains?

No. Renewal still happens at Spaceship. Lemon Domains tracks expiry dates and auto-renew status so you know exactly when to act, but the renewal button stays at Spaceship.

Can AI assistants query my Spaceship domains?

Yes. The Lemon Domains MCP server lets ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and any MCP client query your full portfolio, including Spaceship domains, in plain English. Choose read-only or read-and-write access for each token.

Is Spaceship ICANN-accredited?

Yes. Spaceship is on the ICANN list of accredited registrars, so it can register generic extensions such as .com directly with the registries.

What is Spaceship's IANA ID?

3862. The IANA registrar ID appears in the registrar field of a domain's public record, so it shows which registrar a domain is with.

Is there an MCP server for Spaceship domains?

Yes. Lemon Domains connects to Spaceship by API and serves your Spaceship domains through its remote MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and any MCP client can answer questions about them. It is independent of Spaceship and not affiliated with it, so the same connection also covers your domains at every other registrar.

Does Spaceship have an API?

Yes. Lemon Domains connects to Spaceship by API and syncs your domain list every day, with expiry dates and renewal settings. Your AI assistant can then answer questions about those domains through the Lemon Domains MCP server.

What domain extensions does Spaceship sell?

Its price list includes .com and .live.

Does Spaceship include WHOIS privacy?

Yes. Spaceship hides your contact details in the public record at no extra cost, for the extensions whose registry allows it. Some country-code extensions, such as .us, don't allow privacy at all.

How do I contact Spaceship support?

Spaceship offers support by live chat and help center (24/7).

What does Spaceship offer besides domain names?

DNS hosting, Email hosting, Web hosting, SSL certificates and Domain aftermarket.

What do customers say about Spaceship?

Spaceship has a TrustScore 4.5 out of 5 from about 4,300 reviews on Trustpilot, as of October 2026. Lemon Domains doesn't collect or edit reviews; read them on Trustpilot.

How do I transfer a domain away from Spaceship?

In Domain Manager, open the domain, go to Transfer, choose Transfer domain and Unlock domain, then copy the authorization code. Then give the code to the new registrar to start the transfer.
