Name.com MCP
Lemon Domains is the unofficial Name.com MCP server. Connect your Name.com account by API once, and Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client can answer questions about your Name.com domains next to the domains you hold at every other registrar. Connections start read only, so your AI changes only what you allow.
- “Which of my Name.com domains expire in the next 60 days?”
- “Is auto-renew on for every domain at Name.com?”
- “Did the nameservers change on any of my Name.com domains this week?”

Connect Name.com to Lemon Domains
Three steps: create a read-only API key at Name.com, add it to Lemon Domains, and your domains sync once a day from then on. Connect as many Name.com accounts as you have.
Create a read-only API key at Name.com
Name.com tokens cannot be limited to read-only; every token has full access to the account. Create a separate token just for Lemon Domains so you can delete it on its own.
- 1Sign in to Name.com and open Account Settings → API Tokens (name.com/account/settings/api).
- 2Accept the API Access Agreement if asked.
- 3Create a production token named “Lemon Domains” and copy it, together with your Name.com username. Ignore the development (test) token: it does not work in Lemon Domains.
- 4If your account uses two-step verification, open Account Settings → Security and turn on API Access, or Name.com will refuse the token.
Add it to Lemon Domains
- 1Sign in to Lemon Domains (it's free), open Connections and choose Name.com.
- 2Give the connection a friendly name, like “Name.com personal” or “Name.com clients”. Connect each Name.com account separately.
- 3Paste your name.com username and api token.
- 4Click Test connection. Lemon Domains checks the API key and shows how many domains it can see, without saving anything.
- 5Tick the checkbox to confirm you understand the risks, pick the project new domains go into, and click Connect and import. Your domains appear straight away and sync once a day after that.
What Lemon Domains reads
- Domain names (including internationalised names)
- Status, such as active, expired or pending transfer
- Expiry and registration dates
- Whether auto-renew is on
- Nameservers
- Transfer lock
- WHOIS privacy
Each connection is Read only or Can make changes, and you pick. Read only sends Name.com read requests and nothing else. Can make changes also lets you, your Editors and AI apps you allow turn auto-renew and the transfer lock on or off, change nameservers and buy domains within the workspace's spend limit from Lemon Domains, from a fixed list of calls. It never renews, transfers or deletes a domain. Every change is emailed to Owners and can be undone. Your API key is encrypted at rest and never shown again.
If something goes wrong
- Name.com rejects the API key
- Copy it again with no spaces at either end. Some registrars only show the secret once, so create a new key if you didn't save it.
- The key has an IP restriction
- Lemon Domains connects from 2.31.94.66. Add it to the API key's allowed IPs, or remove the restriction.
- Some domains are missing
- Make sure the API key belongs to the Name.com account (or sub-account) that holds those domains. Connect each account separately.
Rather not use an API key? Import by paste or CSV
Copy your list from the Name.com portal, paste it into Lemon Domains, and you're done. Re-import any time to refresh. Paste or CSV import needs no Name.com credentials at all.
Open your Name.com domain list
- 1Open your Name.com account at name.com and go to the domain list.
- 2If the list paginates, switch to "show all" or the largest page size so every Name.com domain is visible.
- 3Copy the visible list, or export to CSV if Name.com offers it from the account area.
- 4In Lemon Domains, click Import, paste the list or upload the CSV, and map the columns. Lemon Domains previews everything before it commits.
- 5Give the registrar account a friendly label (for example "Name.com personal" or "Name.com client work") so sub-accounts stay distinct.
ICANN accreditations (6)

| 625 | Name.com, Inc. |

Frequently asked questions
Does Lemon Domains support Name.com domains?
Yes. Connect your Name.com account with an API key and Lemon Domains syncs your domains automatically once a day. You can also import by pasting your domain list from the Name.com dashboard or uploading a CSV export. Multiple Name.com accounts are supported with friendly labels so sub-accounts stay distinct in the unified portfolio.
How do I get a Name.com API key?
Sign in to Name.com and open Account Settings → API Tokens (name.com/account/settings/api). Accept the API Access Agreement if asked. Create a production token named “Lemon Domains” and copy it, together with your Name.com username. Ignore the development (test) token: it does not work in Lemon Domains. If your account uses two-step verification, open Account Settings → Security and turn on API Access, or Name.com will refuse the token. Name.com tokens cannot be limited to read-only; every token has full access to the account. Create a separate token just for Lemon Domains so you can delete it on its own.
Do I need to share my Name.com password?
No. Connecting by API uses an API key you create at Name.com, not your password. Name.com tokens cannot be limited to read-only; every token has full access to the account. Create a separate token just for Lemon Domains so you can delete it on its own. Keys are encrypted at rest. Lemon Domains only sends read requests unless you set the connection to Can make changes, which also lets you turn auto-renew and the transfer lock on or off, change nameservers and buy domains within the workspace's spend limit from Lemon Domains. Or skip the API and paste your list or upload a CSV.
Can I track multiple Name.com accounts?
Yes. Add one connection per Name.com account, each with its own friendly name. Personal and business logins, sub-accounts, and client accounts all sit side by side in one dashboard.
Does Lemon Domains renew my Name.com domains?
No. Renewal still happens at Name.com. Lemon Domains tracks expiry dates and auto-renew status so you know exactly when to act, but the renewal button stays at Name.com.
Can AI assistants query my Name.com domains?
Yes. The Lemon Domains MCP server lets ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and any MCP client query your full portfolio, including Name.com domains, in plain English. Choose read-only or read-and-write access for each token.
Is Name.com ICANN-accredited?
Yes. Name.com is on the ICANN list of accredited registrars with 6 accreditations, so it can register generic extensions such as .com directly with the registries.
What is Name.com's IANA ID?
Name.com has 6 IANA registrar IDs, one per accreditation: 452, 466, 625, 826, 1040, 1547.
What other names does Name.com operate under?
Its accreditations are also held as Name105, Inc., DomainSite, Inc., Name.net, Inc., Name106, Inc. and Name117, Inc.. Domains registered through any of them can show those names as the registrar.
Is there an MCP server for Name.com domains?
Yes. Lemon Domains connects to Name.com by API and serves your Name.com domains through its remote MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and any MCP client can answer questions about them. It is independent of Name.com and not affiliated with it, so the same connection also covers your domains at every other registrar.
Does Name.com have an API?
Yes. Lemon Domains connects to Name.com by API and syncs your domain list every day, with expiry dates and renewal settings. Your AI assistant can then answer questions about those domains through the Lemon Domains MCP server.
What domain extensions does Name.com sell?
Name.com's price list has 603 extensions: 498 generic, 67 country-code and 38 second-level, as of October 2026. They include .com, .net, .org, .io, .ai, .co, .app, .dev, .xyz, .uk, .de and .eu. The full list is on this page.
Does Name.com include WHOIS privacy?
Yes. Name.com hides your contact details in the public record at no extra cost, for the extensions whose registry allows it. Some country-code extensions, such as .us, don't allow privacy at all.
How do I contact Name.com support?
Name.com offers support by live chat, email or tickets and help center (24/7). Its contact page is https://www.name.com/contact.
What does Name.com offer besides domain names?

How do I transfer a domain away from Name.com?
In My Domains, open the domain and choose Domain Actions, then Show Transfer Authorization Code. Then give the code to the new registrar to start the transfer.
