mittwald MCP

Lemon Domains is the unofficial mittwald MCP server. Connect your mittwald account by API once, and Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client can answer questions about your mittwald domains next to the domains you hold at every other registrar. Connections start read only, so your AI changes only what you allow.

  • “Which of my mittwald domains expire in the next 60 days?”
  • “Is auto-renew on for every domain at mittwald?”
  • “Did the nameservers change on any of my mittwald domains this week?”

Connect mittwald to Lemon Domains

Three steps: create a read-only API key at mittwald, add it to Lemon Domains, and your domains sync once a day from then on. Connect as many mittwald accounts as you have.

Step 1

Create a read-only API key at mittwald

Give it the least access you can

An mStudio API token with read access only (the api_read role). It can see the same projects and domains as your user and change nothing.

  1. 1Sign in to mStudio and open your profile → API tokens.
  2. 2Create a new token named “Lemon Domains” with read access only.
  3. 3Pick an expiry date you are happy to renew, or none, and copy the token. It is only shown once.

Open mittwald API settings

Step 2

Add it to Lemon Domains

  1. 1Sign in to Lemon Domains (it's free), open Connections and choose mittwald.
  2. 2Give the connection a friendly name, like “mittwald personal” or “mittwald clients”. Connect each mittwald account separately.
  3. 3Paste your api token.
  4. 4Click Test connection. Lemon Domains checks the API key and shows how many domains it can see, without saving anything.
  5. 5Tick the checkbox to confirm you understand the risks, pick the project new domains go into, and click Connect and import. Your domains appear straight away and sync once a day after that.
Step 3

What Lemon Domains reads

Synced once a day
  • Domain names (including internationalised names)
  • Status, such as active, expired or pending transfer
  • Expiry and registration dates
  • Nameservers
Read-only by design

Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests to mittwald: each integration has a fixed list of read-only calls it may make, so it never renews, transfers or changes a domain. Your API key is encrypted at rest and never shown again.

If something goes wrong

mittwald rejects the API key
Copy it again with no spaces at either end. Some registrars only show the secret once, so create a new key if you didn't save it.
The key has an IP restriction
Lemon Domains connects from 2.31.94.66. Add it to the API key's allowed IPs, or remove the restriction.
Some domains are missing
Make sure the API key belongs to the mittwald account (or sub-account) that holds those domains. Connect each account separately.

Rather not use an API key? Import by paste or CSV

Copy your list from the mittwald portal, paste it into Lemon Domains, and you're done. Re-import any time to refresh. Paste or CSV import needs no mittwald credentials at all.

Open mStudio

  1. 1Open your mittwald account at mittwald.de and go to the domain list.
  2. 2If the list paginates, switch to "show all" or the largest page size so every mittwald domain is visible.
  3. 3Copy the visible list, or export to CSV if mittwald offers it from the account area.
  4. 4In Lemon Domains, click Import, paste the list or upload the CSV, and map the columns. Lemon Domains previews everything before it commits.
  5. 5Give the registrar account a friendly label (for example "mittwald personal" or "mittwald client work") so sub-accounts stay distinct.
