checkdomain MCP

Lemon Domains is the unofficial checkdomain MCP server. Connect your checkdomain account by API once, and Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client can answer questions about your checkdomain domains next to the domains you hold at every other registrar. Connections start read only, so your AI changes only what you allow.

  • “Which of my checkdomain domains expire in the next 60 days?”
  • “Is auto-renew on for every domain at checkdomain?”
  • “Did the nameservers change on any of my checkdomain domains this week?”

Connect Checkdomain to Lemon Domains

Three steps: create a read-only API key at Checkdomain, add it to Lemon Domains, and your domains sync once a day from then on. Connect as many Checkdomain accounts as you have.

Step 1

Create a read-only API key at Checkdomain

Give it the least access you can

Create a separate API token just for Lemon Domains, limited to reading domains where Checkdomain offers that, so you can revoke it on its own.

  1. 1Sign in to Checkdomain and open your account data, then the API section.
  2. 2Create an API token for Lemon Domains. If you can choose permissions, allow reading domains only.
  3. 3Copy the token and paste it in Lemon Domains.

Open Checkdomain API settings

Step 2

Add it to Lemon Domains

  1. 1Sign in to Lemon Domains (it's free), open Connections and choose Checkdomain.
  2. 2Give the connection a friendly name, like “Checkdomain personal” or “Checkdomain clients”. Connect each Checkdomain account separately.
  3. 3Paste your api token.
  4. 4Click Test connection. Lemon Domains checks the API key and shows how many domains it can see, without saving anything.
  5. 5Tick the checkbox to confirm you understand the risks, pick the project new domains go into, and click Connect and import. Your domains appear straight away and sync once a day after that.
Step 3

What Lemon Domains reads

Synced once a day
  • Domain names (including internationalised names)
  • Status, such as active, expired or pending transfer
  • Expiry and registration dates
Read-only by design

Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests to Checkdomain: each integration has a fixed list of read-only calls it may make, so it never renews, transfers or changes a domain. Your API key is encrypted at rest and never shown again.

If something goes wrong

Checkdomain rejects the API key
Copy it again with no spaces at either end. Some registrars only show the secret once, so create a new key if you didn't save it.
The key has an IP restriction
Lemon Domains connects from 2.31.94.66. Add it to the API key's allowed IPs, or remove the restriction.
Some domains are missing
Make sure the API key belongs to the Checkdomain account (or sub-account) that holds those domains. Connect each account separately.

Rather not use an API key? Import by paste or CSV

Copy your list from the Checkdomain portal, paste it into Lemon Domains, and you're done. Re-import any time to refresh. Paste or CSV import needs no Checkdomain credentials at all.

Open your Checkdomain account

  1. 1Open your Checkdomain account at checkdomain.de and go to the domain list.
  2. 2If the list paginates, switch to "show all" or the largest page size so every Checkdomain domain is visible.
  3. 3Copy the visible list, or export to CSV if Checkdomain offers it from the account area.
  4. 4In Lemon Domains, click Import, paste the list or upload the CSV, and map the columns. Lemon Domains previews everything before it commits.
  5. 5Give the registrar account a friendly label (for example "Checkdomain personal" or "Checkdomain client work") so sub-accounts stay distinct.
