Dynu MCP

Lemon Domains is the unofficial Dynu MCP server. Connect your Dynu account by API once, and Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client can answer questions about your Dynu domains next to the domains you hold at every other registrar. Connections start read only, so your AI changes only what you allow.

  • “Which of my Dynu domains expire in the next 60 days?”
  • “Is auto-renew on for every domain at Dynu?”
  • “Did the nameservers change on any of my Dynu domains this week?”

Transferring a domain away from Dynu

Open a support ticket to have the domain unlocked and receive the auth code.

Give the code to the new registrar to start the transfer. Most extensions can't move within 60 days of registration or a previous transfer. Dynu's guide

Connect Dynu to Lemon Domains

Three steps: create a read-only API key at Dynu, add it to Lemon Domains, and your domains sync once a day from then on. Connect as many Dynu accounts as you have.

Step 1

Create a read-only API key at Dynu

Give it the least access you can

Dynu has one API key per account with full access; it cannot be limited to reading. Lemon Domains only ever calls GET /v2/domain with it.

  1. 1Sign in to Dynu and open Control Panel → API Credentials.
  2. 2Copy the API key shown there (reveal it if it is hidden).

Open Dynu API settings

Step 2

Add it to Lemon Domains

  1. 1Sign in to Lemon Domains (it's free), open Connections and choose Dynu.
  2. 2Give the connection a friendly name, like “Dynu personal” or “Dynu clients”. Connect each Dynu account separately.
  3. 3Paste your api key.
  4. 4Click Test connection. Lemon Domains checks the API key and shows how many domains it can see, without saving anything.
  5. 5Tick the checkbox to confirm you understand the risks, pick the project new domains go into, and click Connect and import. Your domains appear straight away and sync once a day after that.
Step 3

What Lemon Domains reads

Synced once a day
  • Domain names (including internationalised names)
  • Status, such as active, expired or pending transfer
  • Expiry and registration dates
  • Whether auto-renew is on
  • WHOIS privacy
Read-only by design

Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests to Dynu: each integration has a fixed list of read-only calls it may make, so it never renews, transfers or changes a domain. Your API key is encrypted at rest and never shown again.

If something goes wrong

Dynu rejects the API key
Copy it again with no spaces at either end. Some registrars only show the secret once, so create a new key if you didn't save it.
The key has an IP restriction
Lemon Domains connects from 2.31.94.66. Add it to the API key's allowed IPs, or remove the restriction.
Some domains are missing
Make sure the API key belongs to the Dynu account (or sub-account) that holds those domains. Connect each account separately.

Rather not use an API key? Import by paste or CSV

Copy your list from the Dynu portal, paste it into Lemon Domains, and you're done. Re-import any time to refresh. Paste or CSV import needs no Dynu credentials at all.

Open the Dynu Control Panel

  1. 1Open your Dynu account at dynu.com and go to the domain list.
  2. 2If the list paginates, switch to "show all" or the largest page size so every Dynu domain is visible.
  3. 3Copy the visible list, or export to CSV if Dynu offers it from the account area.
  4. 4In Lemon Domains, click Import, paste the list or upload the CSV, and map the columns. Lemon Domains previews everything before it commits.
  5. 5Give the registrar account a friendly label (for example "Dynu personal" or "Dynu client work") so sub-accounts stay distinct.

Frequently asked questions

Does Lemon Domains support Dynu domains?

Yes. Connect your Dynu account with an API key and Lemon Domains syncs your domains automatically once a day. You can also import by pasting your domain list from the Dynu dashboard or uploading a CSV export. Multiple Dynu accounts are supported with friendly labels so sub-accounts stay distinct in the unified portfolio.

How do I get a Dynu API key?

Sign in to Dynu and open Control Panel → API Credentials. Copy the API key shown there (reveal it if it is hidden). Dynu has one API key per account with full access; it cannot be limited to reading. Lemon Domains only ever calls GET /v2/domain with it.

Do I need to share my Dynu password?

No. Connecting by API uses an API key you create at Dynu, not your password. Dynu has one API key per account with full access; it cannot be limited to reading. Lemon Domains only ever calls GET /v2/domain with it. Keys are encrypted at rest. Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests. Or skip the API and paste your list or upload a CSV.

Can I track multiple Dynu accounts?

Yes. Add one connection per Dynu account, each with its own friendly name. Personal and business logins, sub-accounts, and client accounts all sit side by side in one dashboard.

Does Lemon Domains renew my Dynu domains?

No. Renewal still happens at Dynu. Lemon Domains tracks expiry dates and auto-renew status so you know exactly when to act, but the renewal button stays at Dynu.

Can AI assistants query my Dynu domains?

Yes. The Lemon Domains MCP server lets ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and any MCP client query your full portfolio, including Dynu domains, in plain English. Choose read-only or read-and-write access for each token.

Is Dynu ICANN-accredited?

Yes. Dynu is on the ICANN list of accredited registrars, so it can register generic extensions such as .com directly with the registries.

What is Dynu's IANA ID?

3857. The IANA registrar ID appears in the registrar field of a domain's public record, so it shows which registrar a domain is with.

What other names does Dynu operate under?

Its accreditations are also held as Dynu Systems Incorporated. Domains registered through any of them can show those names as the registrar.

Is there an MCP server for Dynu domains?

Yes. Lemon Domains connects to Dynu by API and serves your Dynu domains through its remote MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and any MCP client can answer questions about them. It is independent of Dynu and not affiliated with it, so the same connection also covers your domains at every other registrar.

Does Dynu have an API?

Yes. Lemon Domains connects to Dynu by API and syncs your domain list every day, with expiry dates and renewal settings. Your AI assistant can then answer questions about those domains through the Lemon Domains MCP server.
