Cloudflare Registrar

Cloudflare Registrar is the domain registration service of Cloudflare, the San Francisco network, security and CDN company. Cloudflare Registrar MCP

Lemon Domains is the unofficial Cloudflare Registrar MCP server. Connect your Cloudflare Registrar account by API once, and Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client can answer questions about your Cloudflare Registrar domains next to the domains you hold at every other registrar. Connections start read only, so your AI changes only what you allow.

  • “Which of my Cloudflare Registrar domains expire in the next 60 days?”
  • “Is auto-renew on for every domain at Cloudflare Registrar?”
  • “Did the nameservers change on any of my Cloudflare Registrar domains this week?”

Connect Cloudflare Registrar to Lemon Domains

Three steps: create a read-only API key at Cloudflare Registrar, add it to Lemon Domains, and your domains sync once a day from then on. Connect as many Cloudflare Registrar accounts as you have.

Step 1

Create a read-only API key at Cloudflare Registrar

Give it the least access you can

Cloudflare tokens can be read-only: give the token only the account permission Registrar → Read, limited to the one account that holds your domains. It cannot change, renew or transfer anything.

  1. 1Sign in to Cloudflare and open My Profile → API Tokens (or Manage Account → Account API Tokens), then choose Create Token → Create Custom Token.
  2. 2Name it “Lemon Domains” and add one permission: Account → Registrar → Read. Do not add any Edit permissions.
  3. 3Under Account Resources, include only the account that holds your domains. Optionally set an expiry date.
  4. 4Create the token and copy it. It is only shown once. Use this token, not the Global API Key, which Lemon Domains does not accept.
  5. 5Only if your token covers more than one account, also copy the Account ID from the account's home page (⋯ menu → Copy account ID). Otherwise leave Account ID blank.

Open Cloudflare Registrar API settings

Step 2

Add it to Lemon Domains

  1. 1Sign in to Lemon Domains (it's free), open Connections and choose Cloudflare Registrar.
  2. 2Give the connection a friendly name, like “Cloudflare Registrar personal” or “Cloudflare Registrar clients”. Connect each Cloudflare Registrar account separately.
  3. 3Paste your api token.
  4. 4Click Test connection. Lemon Domains checks the API key and shows how many domains it can see, without saving anything.
  5. 5Tick the checkbox to confirm you understand the risks, pick the project new domains go into, and click Connect and import. Your domains appear straight away and sync once a day after that.
Step 3

What Lemon Domains reads

Synced once a day
  • Domain names (including internationalised names)
  • Status, such as active, expired or pending transfer
  • Expiry and registration dates
  • Whether auto-renew is on
  • Transfer lock
  • WHOIS privacy
Read only unless you choose

Each connection is Read only or Can make changes, and you pick. Read only sends Cloudflare Registrar read requests and nothing else. Can make changes also lets you, your Editors and AI apps you allow edit DNS records and turn auto-renew on or off from Lemon Domains, from a fixed list of calls. It never renews, transfers or deletes a domain. Every change is emailed to Owners and can be undone. Your API key is encrypted at rest and never shown again.

If something goes wrong

Cloudflare Registrar rejects the API key
Copy it again with no spaces at either end. Some registrars only show the secret once, so create a new key if you didn't save it.
The key has an IP restriction
Lemon Domains connects from 2.31.94.66. Add it to the API key's allowed IPs, or remove the restriction.
Some domains are missing
Make sure the API key belongs to the Cloudflare Registrar account (or sub-account) that holds those domains. Connect each account separately.

Rather not use an API key? Import by paste or CSV

Copy your list from the Cloudflare Registrar portal, paste it into Lemon Domains, and you're done. Re-import any time to refresh. Paste or CSV import needs no Cloudflare Registrar credentials at all.

Open your Cloudflare domains

  1. 1Open your Cloudflare Registrar account at cloudflare.com and go to the domain list.
  2. 2If the list paginates, switch to "show all" or the largest page size so every Cloudflare Registrar domain is visible.
  3. 3Copy the visible list, or export to CSV if Cloudflare Registrar offers it from the account area.
  4. 4In Lemon Domains, click Import, paste the list or upload the CSV, and map the columns. Lemon Domains previews everything before it commits.
  5. 5Give the registrar account a friendly label (for example "Cloudflare Registrar personal" or "Cloudflare Registrar client work") so sub-accounts stay distinct.

Yes. Connect your Cloudflare Registrar account with an API key and Lemon Domains syncs your domains automatically once a day. How do I get a Cloudflare Registrar API key?

Sign in to Cloudflare and open My Profile → API Tokens (or Manage Account → Account API Tokens), then choose Create Token → Create Custom Token. Name it “Lemon Domains” and add one permission: Account → Registrar → Read. Do not add any Edit permissions. Under Account Resources, include only the account that holds your domains. Optionally set an expiry date. Create the token and copy it. It is only shown once. Use this token, not the Global API Key, which Lemon Domains does not accept. Only if your token covers more than one account, also copy the Account ID from the account's home page (⋯ menu → Copy account ID). Otherwise leave Account ID blank. Cloudflare tokens can be read-only: give the token only the account permission Registrar → Read, limited to the one account that holds your domains. It cannot change, renew or transfer anything.

Do I need to share my Cloudflare Registrar password?

No. Connecting by API uses an API key you create at Cloudflare Registrar, not your password. Cloudflare tokens can be read-only: give the token only the account permission Registrar → Read, limited to the one account that holds your domains. It cannot change, renew or transfer anything. Keys are encrypted at rest. Lemon Domains only sends read requests unless you set the connection to Can make changes, which also lets you edit DNS records and turn auto-renew on or off from Lemon Domains. Or skip the API and paste your list or upload a CSV.

Can I track multiple Cloudflare Registrar accounts?

Yes. Add one connection per Cloudflare Registrar account, each with its own friendly name. Personal and business logins, sub-accounts, and client accounts all sit side by side in one dashboard.

Does Lemon Domains renew my Cloudflare Registrar domains?

No. Renewal still happens at Cloudflare Registrar. Lemon Domains tracks expiry dates and auto-renew status so you know exactly when to act, but the renewal button stays at Cloudflare Registrar.

Can AI assistants query my Cloudflare Registrar domains?

Is Cloudflare Registrar ICANN-accredited?

What is Cloudflare Registrar's IANA ID?

1910. The IANA registrar ID appears in the registrar field of a domain's public record, so it shows which registrar a domain is with.

What other names does Cloudflare Registrar operate under?

Its accreditations are also held as Cloudflare, Inc.. Domains registered through any of them can show those names as the registrar.

Is there an MCP server for Cloudflare Registrar domains?

Yes. Lemon Domains connects to Cloudflare Registrar by API and serves your Cloudflare Registrar domains through its remote MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and any MCP client can answer questions about them. It is independent of Cloudflare Registrar and not affiliated with it, so the same connection also covers your domains at every other registrar.

Does Cloudflare Registrar have an API?
