  • “Which of my Key-Systems (CentralNic Reseller) domains expire in the next 60 days?”
  • “Is auto-renew on for every domain at Key-Systems (CentralNic Reseller)?”

Connect Key-Systems to Lemon Domains

Three steps: create a read-only API login at Key-Systems, add it to Lemon Domains, and your domains sync once a day from then on. Connect as many Key-Systems accounts as you have.

Step 1

Create a read-only API login at Key-Systems

Give it the least access you can

A role user limited to the QueryDomainList command. It can list your domains and nothing else, and the account's own password is never shared.

Who can use the API

API access comes with an RRPproxy / CentralNic Reseller account.

  1. 1Sign in to the RRPproxy (CentralNic Reseller) control panel.
  2. 2Under your account settings, create a role user (restricted user) for Lemon Domains and allow it only the QueryDomainList command.
  3. 3If you limit the key to certain IP addresses, allow the Lemon Domains IP address shown on the connect page.
  4. 4Enter your account login, the role user's name and the role user's password in Lemon Domains.

Open Key-Systems API settings

Step 2

Add it to Lemon Domains

  1. 1Sign in to Lemon Domains (it's free), open Connections and choose Key-Systems.
  2. 2Give the connection a friendly name, like “Key-Systems personal” or “Key-Systems clients”. Connect each Key-Systems account separately.
  3. 3Paste your rrpproxy login and password.
  4. 4Click Test connection. Lemon Domains checks the API login and shows how many domains it can see, without saving anything.
  5. 5Tick the checkbox to confirm you understand the risks, pick the project new domains go into, and click Connect and import. Your domains appear straight away and sync once a day after that.
Step 3

What Lemon Domains reads

Synced once a day
  • Domain names (including internationalised names)
  • Status, such as active, expired or pending transfer
  • Expiry and registration dates
  • Whether auto-renew is on
  • Nameservers
  • Transfer lock
Read-only by design

Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests to Key-Systems: each integration has a fixed list of read-only calls it may make, so it never renews, transfers or changes a domain. Your API login is encrypted at rest and never shown again.

If something goes wrong

Key-Systems rejects the API login
Copy it again with no spaces at either end. Check the login is the API user, not a different account.
The key has an IP restriction
Lemon Domains connects from 2.31.94.66. Add it to the API login's allowed IPs, or remove the restriction.
Some domains are missing
Make sure the API login belongs to the Key-Systems account (or sub-account) that holds those domains. Connect each account separately.

Rather not use an API login? Import by paste or CSV

Copy your list from the Key-Systems portal, paste it into Lemon Domains, and you're done. Re-import any time to refresh. Paste or CSV import needs no Key-Systems credentials at all.

Open RRPproxy

  1. 1Open your Key-Systems account at key-systems.net and go to the domain list.
  2. 2If the list paginates, switch to "show all" or the largest page size so every Key-Systems domain is visible.
  3. 3Copy the visible list, or export to CSV if Key-Systems offers it from the account area.
  4. 4In Lemon Domains, click Import, paste the list or upload the CSV, and map the columns. Lemon Domains previews everything before it commits.
  5. 5Give the registrar account a friendly label (for example "Key-Systems personal" or "Key-Systems client work") so sub-accounts stay distinct.

ICANN accreditations (5)

Each accreditation has its own IANA registrar ID and name. A domain registered through any of them can show that name as its registrar.
