NiceNIC MCP
Lemon Domains is the unofficial NiceNIC MCP server. Connect your NiceNIC account by API once, and Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client can answer questions about your NiceNIC domains next to the domains you hold at every other registrar. Connections start read only, so your AI changes only what you allow.
- “Which of my NiceNIC domains expire in the next 60 days?”
- “Is auto-renew on for every domain at NiceNIC?”
- “Did the nameservers change on any of my NiceNIC domains this week?”

Connect NiceNIC to Lemon Domains
Three steps: create a read-only API key at NiceNIC, add it to Lemon Domains, and your domains sync once a day from then on. Connect as many NiceNIC accounts as you have.
Create a read-only API key at NiceNIC
NiceNIC has one API secret per account, limited to the IP addresses you authorize. Lemon Domains only ever calls domain_list with it.
Any NiceNIC account can use the reseller API after setting an API secret and authorized IPs.
- 1Sign in to NiceNIC and open API Settings in your account.
- 2Add the Lemon Domains IP address shown on this page to the authorized IPs and save.
- 3Create or copy your API secret.
- 4Enter your NiceNIC username and the API secret in the fields in Lemon Domains.
Add it to Lemon Domains
- 1Sign in to Lemon Domains (it's free), open Connections and choose NiceNIC.
- 2Give the connection a friendly name, like “NiceNIC personal” or “NiceNIC clients”. Connect each NiceNIC account separately.
- 3Paste your username and api secret.
- 4Click Test connection. Lemon Domains checks the API key and shows how many domains it can see, without saving anything.
- 5Tick the checkbox to confirm you understand the risks, pick the project new domains go into, and click Connect and import. Your domains appear straight away and sync once a day after that.
What Lemon Domains reads
- Domain names (including internationalised names)
- Status, such as active, expired or pending transfer
- Expiry and registration dates
- Nameservers
Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests to NiceNIC: each integration has a fixed list of read-only calls it may make, so it never renews, transfers or changes a domain. Your API key is encrypted at rest and never shown again.
If something goes wrong
- NiceNIC rejects the API key
- Copy it again with no spaces at either end. Some registrars only show the secret once, so create a new key if you didn't save it.
- NiceNIC rejects calls from Lemon Domains' IP address
- Lemon Domains connects from 2.31.94.66. Add it to the API key's allowed IPs at NiceNIC.
- Some domains are missing
- Make sure the API key belongs to the NiceNIC account (or sub-account) that holds those domains. Connect each account separately.
Rather not use an API key? Import by paste or CSV
Copy your list from the NiceNIC portal, paste it into Lemon Domains, and you're done. Re-import any time to refresh. Paste or CSV import needs no NiceNIC credentials at all.
- 1Open your NiceNIC account at nicenic.net and go to the domain list.
- 2If the list paginates, switch to "show all" or the largest page size so every NiceNIC domain is visible.
- 3Copy the visible list, or export to CSV if NiceNIC offers it from the account area.
- 4In Lemon Domains, click Import, paste the list or upload the CSV, and map the columns. Lemon Domains previews everything before it commits.
- 5Give the registrar account a friendly label (for example "NiceNIC personal" or "NiceNIC client work") so sub-accounts stay distinct.
ICANN accreditations (2)
Each accreditation has its own IANA registrar ID and name. A domain registered through any of them can show that name as its registrar.
| IANA ID | Accredited name |
