OpenFrequently asked questions
How is domain age calculated?
The checker reads the registration (creation) date from RDAP and measures the time elapsed since. That is the true age of the registration, straight from the registry of record, not an estimate.
Why does domain age matter?
Older domains can carry more trust and, in some cases, SEO weight, though age alone is not a ranking factor. For investors, the creation date is a useful signal when appraising or buying a name. For everyone, the expiry date is what you must not miss.
Which domains are supported?
Any TLD that operates an RDAP server, which covers most major extensions like .com, .net, .org, .io, .ai, and .app. Some country-code TLDs do not support RDAP and will return no data.
Can I monitor the expiry date after checking?
Yes. Add the domain to Lemon Domains and we track its expiry across every registrar, with monthly sync and risk grouping so a renewal never slips past you.
Stop letting domains slip through the cracks.
Five minutes to import. A lifetime of not refreshing five registrar tabs.
