URI record

A URI record publishes a full URI (such as https://… or ftp://…) for a service at a name, with priority and weight like SRV. Unlike SRV, it can carry a scheme and path. Few applications use it.

_<service>._<protocol>.<name> <ttl> IN URI <priority> <weight> "<uri>"

Field	What it means	Accepted values
Priority	Lower is tried first.	0 to 65535.
Weight	Share among equal priorities.	0 to 65535.
Target	The URI.	A quoted URI such as `"https://docs.example.com/"`.

Name_ftp._tcp	A service name. Underscore names hold records for a protocol (such as _dmarc or _sip._tcp), not a website.
TTL3600	Resolvers may keep this answer for 1 hour before asking again. Changes can take that long to reach everyone.
ClassIN	Internet. Every record you'll write uses IN.
TypeURI	A URI for a service.
Priority10	Lower is tried first.
Weight1	Share of traffic among targets with the same priority.
Targetftp://files.example.com/public	The URI clients should use.
