Zone playground
Try out DNS without touching a real domain. Paste a zone file or edit the example: every record is checked and explained, conflicts between records are flagged, and you can ask what a resolver would return for any name and type. Everything runs in your browser.
One record per line: name, TTL, class, type, value. $ORIGIN and $TTL work, a line starting with a space reuses the name above it, and ( ) spans lines. You can paste an export from Cloudflare, Route 53 or BIND.
Ask the zone a question
What would a resolver get back? CNAMEs, wildcards, delegations and missing names are followed step by step.
- 1.
www.example.com is a CNAME for example.com, so the resolver starts again with that name.
www 3600 IN CNAME example.com.
- 2.
example.com has 1 A record.
@ 3600 IN A 192.0.2.10
Response: NOERROR, 2 records in the answer
Problems
15 records read. Nothing to fix.
- CheckLine 22: The SRV record points at sip, which has no A or AAAA record in this zone.
