Connect Wix to Lemon Domains
Three steps: create a read-only API key at Wix, add it to Lemon Domains, and your domains sync once a day from then on. Connect as many Wix accounts as you have.
Create a read-only API key at Wix
An account-level API key with only the Domains permission. Wix keys are scoped by permission, not by read or write, so make one just for Lemon Domains so you can revoke it on its own.
- 1Sign in to Wix as the account owner and open the API Keys Manager.
- 2Choose Generate API Key, name it “Lemon Domains”, and under Permissions tick only the Domains permissions. No site permissions are needed.
- 3Copy the key (it is only shown once) and the Account ID shown on the API Keys page, and enter both in Lemon Domains.
Add it to Lemon Domains
- 1Sign in to Lemon Domains (it's free), open Connections and choose Wix.
- 2Give the connection a friendly name, like “Wix personal” or “Wix clients”. Connect each Wix account separately.
- 3Paste your api key and account id.
- 4Click Test connection. Lemon Domains checks the API key and shows how many domains it can see, without saving anything.
- 5Tick the checkbox to confirm you understand the risks, pick the project new domains go into, and click Connect and import. Your domains appear straight away and sync once a day after that.
What Lemon Domains reads
- Domain names (including internationalised names)
- Status, such as active, expired or pending transfer
- Expiry and registration dates
- Nameservers
Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests to Wix: each integration has a fixed list of read-only calls it may make, so it never renews, transfers or changes a domain. Your API key is encrypted at rest and never shown again.
If something goes wrong
- Wix rejects the API key
- Copy it again with no spaces at either end. Some registrars only show the secret once, so create a new key if you didn't save it.
- The key has an IP restriction
- Lemon Domains connects from 2.31.94.66. Add it to the API key's allowed IPs, or remove the restriction.
- Some domains are missing
- Make sure the API key belongs to the Wix account (or sub-account) that holds those domains. Connect each account separately.
Rather not use an API key? Import by paste or CSV
Copy your list from the Wix portal, paste it into Lemon Domains, and you're done. Re-import any time to refresh.
- 1Open your Wix account at wix.com and go to the domain list.
- 2If the list paginates, switch to "show all" or the largest page size so every Wix domain is visible.
- 3Copy the visible list, or export to CSV if Wix offers it from the account area.
- 4In Lemon Domains, click Import, paste the list or upload the CSV, and map the columns. Lemon Domains previews everything before it commits.
- 5Give the registrar account a friendly label (for example "Wix personal" or "Wix client work") so sub-accounts stay distinct.
- Paste or CSV import needs no Wix credentials at all.
- Wix sub-accounts are supported. Add one Lemon Domains entry per Wix account with its own label.

How is this different from the Wix dashboard?

Do I need to share my Wix password?
No. Connecting by API uses an API key you create at Wix, not your password. An account-level API key with only the Domains permission.
