Connect Spaceship to Lemon Domains
Three steps: create a read-only API key at Spaceship, add it to Lemon Domains, and your domains sync once a day from then on. Connect as many Spaceship accounts as you have.
Create a read-only API key at Spaceship
Give the key only the domains:read permission.
- 1Sign in to Spaceship and open API Manager.
- 2Create a new API key named “Lemon Domains”.
- 3Under permissions, tick only “domains:read”.
- 4Copy the API key and the API secret. Both are needed. The secret is only shown once.
Add it to Lemon Domains
- 1Sign in to Lemon Domains (it's free), open Connections and choose Spaceship.
- 2Give the connection a friendly name, like “Spaceship personal” or “Spaceship clients”. Connect each Spaceship account separately.
- 3Paste your api key and api secret.
- 4Click Test connection. Lemon Domains checks the API key and shows how many domains it can see, without saving anything.
- 5Tick the checkbox to confirm you understand the risks, pick the project new domains go into, and click Connect and import. Your domains appear straight away and sync once a day after that.
What Lemon Domains reads
- Domain names (including internationalised names)
- Status, such as active, expired or pending transfer
- Expiry and registration dates
- Whether auto-renew is on
- Nameservers
- Transfer lock
- WHOIS privacy
Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests to Spaceship: each integration has a fixed list of read-only calls it may make, so it never renews, transfers or changes a domain. Your API key is encrypted at rest and never shown again.
If something goes wrong
- Spaceship rejects the API key
- Copy it again with no spaces at either end. Some registrars only show the secret once, so create a new key if you didn't save it.
- The key has an IP restriction
- Lemon Domains connects from 2.31.94.66. Add it to the API key's allowed IPs, or remove the restriction.
- Some domains are missing
- Make sure the API key belongs to the Spaceship account (or sub-account) that holds those domains. Connect each account separately.
Rather not use an API key? Import by paste or CSV
Copy your list from the Spaceship portal, paste it into Lemon Domains, and you're done. Re-import any time to refresh.
Open your Spaceship domain manager
- 1Open your Spaceship account at spaceship.com and go to the domain list.
- 2If the list paginates, switch to "show all" or the largest page size so every Spaceship domain is visible.
- 3Copy the visible list, or export to CSV if Spaceship offers it from the account area.
- 4In Lemon Domains, click Import, paste the list or upload the CSV, and map the columns. Lemon Domains previews everything before it commits.
- 5Give the registrar account a friendly label (for example "Spaceship personal" or "Spaceship client work") so sub-accounts stay distinct.
- Paste or CSV import needs no Spaceship credentials at all.
- Spaceship sub-accounts are supported. Add one Lemon Domains entry per Spaceship account with its own label.

Spaceship has been registering domains since 2023 with around 3 million domains under management, but its built-in dashboard is account-scoped and not designed for portfolio thinking. Lemon Domains puts every Spaceship domain into one searchable, sortable list, adds live expiry countdowns, expiry window filters (under 30 days, 31-90 days, later), and project folders, and unifies Spaceship with every other registrar you use.
Do I need to share my Spaceship password?
No. Connecting by API uses an API key you create at Spaceship, not your password. Give the key only the domains:read permission. Keys are encrypted at rest, and Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests. Or skip the API and paste your list or upload a CSV.
Can I track multiple Spaceship accounts?
Yes. Add one connection per Spaceship account, each with its own friendly name. Personal and business logins, sub-accounts, and client accounts all sit side by side in one dashboard.
Does Lemon Domains renew my Spaceship domains?
No. Renewal still happens at Spaceship. Lemon Domains tracks expiry dates and auto-renew status so you know exactly when to act, but the renewal button stays at Spaceship.
