Connect Scaleway to Lemon Domains

Three steps: create a read-only API key at Scaleway, add it to Lemon Domains, and your domains sync once a day from then on. Connect as many Scaleway accounts as you have.

Step 1

Create a read-only API key at Scaleway

Give it the least access you can

An IAM application whose only policy grants the DomainsDNSReadOnly permission set. Its API key can read your domains and DNS, and change nothing.

  1. 1Sign in to the Scaleway console and open IAM → Applications.
  2. 2Create an application named “Lemon Domains”.
  3. 3Create a policy for it with the DomainsDNSReadOnly permission set, scoped to the Organization (or the projects) that hold your domains.
  4. 4Open the application's API keys tab, generate an API key, and copy the secret key. It is only shown once.

Open Scaleway API settings

Step 2

Add it to Lemon Domains

  1. 1Sign in to Lemon Domains (it's free), open Connections and choose Scaleway.
  2. 2Give the connection a friendly name, like “Scaleway personal” or “Scaleway clients”. Connect each Scaleway account separately.
  3. 3Paste your secret key.
  4. 4Click Test connection. Lemon Domains checks the API key and shows how many domains it can see, without saving anything.
  5. 5Tick the checkbox to confirm you understand the risks, pick the project new domains go into, and click Connect and import. Your domains appear straight away and sync once a day after that.
Step 3

What Lemon Domains reads

Synced once a day
  • Domain names (including internationalised names)
  • Status, such as active, expired or pending transfer
  • Expiry and registration dates
  • Whether auto-renew is on
  • Transfer lock
Read-only by design

Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests to Scaleway: each integration has a fixed list of read-only calls it may make, so it never renews, transfers or changes a domain. Your API key is encrypted at rest and never shown again.

If something goes wrong

Scaleway rejects the API key
Copy it again with no spaces at either end. Some registrars only show the secret once, so create a new key if you didn't save it.
The key has an IP restriction
Lemon Domains connects from 2.31.94.66. Add it to the API key's allowed IPs, or remove the restriction.
Some domains are missing
Make sure the API key belongs to the Scaleway account (or sub-account) that holds those domains. Connect each account separately.

Rather not use an API key? Import by paste or CSV

Copy your list from the Scaleway portal, paste it into Lemon Domains, and you're done. Re-import any time to refresh.

Open your Scaleway domains

  1. 1Open your Scaleway account at scaleway.com and go to the domain list.
  2. 2If the list paginates, switch to "show all" or the largest page size so every Scaleway domain is visible.
  3. 3Copy the visible list, or export to CSV if Scaleway offers it from the account area.
  4. 4In Lemon Domains, click Import, paste the list or upload the CSV, and map the columns. Lemon Domains previews everything before it commits.
  5. 5Give the registrar account a friendly label (for example "Scaleway personal" or "Scaleway client work") so sub-accounts stay distinct.
Heads up
  • Paste or CSV import needs no Scaleway credentials at all.
  • Scaleway sub-accounts are supported. Add one Lemon Domains entry per Scaleway account with its own label.

How Scaleway fits into Lemon Domains

Pulled into one dashboard

Every Scaleway domain you own sits next to your domains from every other registrar. Same list, same search.

Expiry tracking, finally

Lemon Domains shows live expiry countdowns and filters by expiry window (under 30 days, 31-90 days, later) for every Scaleway domain so you stop missing renewals.

Daily sync by API

Connect Scaleway with an API key and Lemon Domains syncs your domains once a day. Hit Sync now whenever you want a fresh copy.

Why Lemon Domains beats the Scaleway dashboard

  • Every Scaleway domain in one sortable list, no pagination
  • Live expiry countdowns and 30 and 90 day expiry windows, not just a date column
  • Project folders for client work, brands, and experiments
  • Multiple Scaleway accounts with friendly labels, side by side
  • Daily sync by API, plus a Sync now button
  • Unified view with GoDaddy, Porkbun, Namecheap, and every other registrar
  • MCP server access so your AI assistant can answer Scaleway portfolio questions

Ask your AI assistant about your Scaleway domains

Connect the Lemon Domains MCP server to Claude Code, Cursor, or any MCP client that can send a Bearer header. "What Scaleway domains do I have expiring this month?" becomes a one-line question.

Scaleway + Lemon Domains FAQ

Does Lemon Domains support Scaleway domains?

Yes. Connect your Scaleway account with an API key and Lemon Domains syncs your domains automatically once a day. You can also import by pasting your domain list from the Scaleway dashboard or uploading a CSV export. Multiple Scaleway accounts are supported with friendly labels so sub-accounts stay distinct in the unified portfolio.

How is this different from the Scaleway dashboard?

Scaleway has been registering domains since 1999, but its built-in dashboard is account-scoped and not designed for portfolio thinking. Lemon Domains puts every Scaleway domain into one searchable, sortable list, adds live expiry countdowns, expiry window filters (under 30 days, 31-90 days, later), and project folders, and unifies Scaleway with every other registrar you use.

Do I need to share my Scaleway password?

No. Connecting by API uses an API key you create at Scaleway, not your password. An IAM application whose only policy grants the DomainsDNSReadOnly permission set. Its API key can read your domains and DNS, and change nothing. Keys are encrypted at rest, and Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests. Or skip the API and paste your list or upload a CSV.

Can I track multiple Scaleway accounts?

Yes. Add one connection per Scaleway account, each with its own friendly name. Personal and business logins, sub-accounts, and client accounts all sit side by side in one dashboard.

Does Lemon Domains renew my Scaleway domains?

No. Renewal still happens at Scaleway. Lemon Domains tracks expiry dates and auto-renew status so you know exactly when to act, but the renewal button stays at Scaleway.

Can AI assistants query my Scaleway domains?

Yes. The Lemon Domains MCP server lets Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and any MCP client that can send a Bearer header query your full portfolio, including Scaleway domains, in plain English. Choose read-only or read-and-write access for each token.
