Connect nicmanager to Lemon Domains

Three steps: create a read-only API login at nicmanager, add it to Lemon Domains, and your domains sync once a day from then on. Connect as many nicmanager accounts as you have.

Step 1

Create a read-only API login at nicmanager

Give it the least access you can

A nicmanager sub-user with read-only API access. It can list your domains and change nothing, and your main login is never shared.

Who can use the API

nicmanager is a registrar for resellers and businesses; API access comes with a nicmanager account.

  1. 1Sign in to nicmanager and open user management.
  2. 2Create a sub-user named “lemon” with a strong password and without two-factor authentication.
  3. 3Give the sub-user API access with read rights only.
  4. 4Enter the user name as account.lemon (or the sub-user's email address) and its password in Lemon Domains.

Open nicmanager API settings

Step 2

Add it to Lemon Domains

  1. 1Sign in to Lemon Domains (it's free), open Connections and choose nicmanager.
  2. 2Give the connection a friendly name, like “nicmanager personal” or “nicmanager clients”. Connect each nicmanager account separately.
  3. 3Paste your user name and password.
  4. 4Click Test connection. Lemon Domains checks the API login and shows how many domains it can see, without saving anything.
  5. 5Tick the checkbox to confirm you understand the risks, pick the project new domains go into, and click Connect and import. Your domains appear straight away and sync once a day after that.
Step 3

What Lemon Domains reads

Synced once a day
  • Domain names (including internationalised names)
  • Status, such as active, expired or pending transfer
  • Expiry and registration dates
  • Whether auto-renew is on
Read-only by design

Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests to nicmanager: each integration has a fixed list of read-only calls it may make, so it never renews, transfers or changes a domain. Your API login is encrypted at rest and never shown again.

If something goes wrong

nicmanager rejects the API login
Copy it again with no spaces at either end. Check the login is the API user, not a different account.
The key has an IP restriction
Lemon Domains connects from 2.31.94.66. Add it to the API login's allowed IPs, or remove the restriction.
Some domains are missing
Make sure the API login belongs to the nicmanager account (or sub-account) that holds those domains. Connect each account separately.

Rather not use an API login? Import by paste or CSV

Copy your list from the nicmanager portal, paste it into Lemon Domains, and you're done. Re-import any time to refresh.

Open nicmanager

  1. 1Open your nicmanager account at nicmanager.com and go to the domain list.
  2. 2If the list paginates, switch to "show all" or the largest page size so every nicmanager domain is visible.
  3. 3Copy the visible list, or export to CSV if nicmanager offers it from the account area.
  4. 4In Lemon Domains, click Import, paste the list or upload the CSV, and map the columns. Lemon Domains previews everything before it commits.
  5. 5Give the registrar account a friendly label (for example "nicmanager personal" or "nicmanager client work") so sub-accounts stay distinct.
Heads up
  • Paste or CSV import needs no nicmanager credentials at all.
  • nicmanager sub-accounts are supported. Add one Lemon Domains entry per nicmanager account with its own label.

How nicmanager fits into Lemon Domains

Pulled into one dashboard

Every nicmanager domain you own sits next to your domains from every other registrar. Same list, same search.

Expiry tracking, finally

Lemon Domains shows live expiry countdowns and filters by expiry window (under 30 days, 31-90 days, later) for every nicmanager domain so you stop missing renewals.

Daily sync by API

Connect nicmanager with its API login and Lemon Domains syncs your domains once a day. Hit Sync now whenever you want a fresh copy.

Why Lemon Domains beats the nicmanager dashboard

  • Every nicmanager domain in one sortable list, no pagination
  • Live expiry countdowns and 30 and 90 day expiry windows, not just a date column
  • Project folders for client work, brands, and experiments
  • Multiple nicmanager accounts with friendly labels, side by side
  • Daily sync by API, plus a Sync now button
  • Unified view with GoDaddy, Porkbun, Namecheap, and every other registrar
  • MCP server access so your AI assistant can answer nicmanager portfolio questions

Ask your AI assistant about your nicmanager domains

Connect the Lemon Domains MCP server to Claude Code, Cursor, or any MCP client that can send a Bearer header. "What nicmanager domains do I have expiring this month?" becomes a one-line question.

nicmanager + Lemon Domains FAQ

Does Lemon Domains support nicmanager domains?

Yes. Connect your nicmanager account with its API login and Lemon Domains syncs your domains automatically once a day. nicmanager is a registrar for resellers and businesses; API access comes with a nicmanager account. You can also import by pasting your domain list from the nicmanager dashboard or uploading a CSV export. Multiple nicmanager accounts are supported with friendly labels so sub-accounts stay distinct in the unified portfolio.

How is this different from the nicmanager dashboard?

nicmanager is an established registrar, but its built-in dashboard is account-scoped and not designed for portfolio thinking. Lemon Domains puts every nicmanager domain into one searchable, sortable list, adds live expiry countdowns, expiry window filters (under 30 days, 31-90 days, later), and project folders, and unifies nicmanager with every other registrar you use.

Do I need to share my nicmanager password?

Only if you connect by API. nicmanager's API signs in with a username and password rather than an API key. A nicmanager sub-user with read-only API access. It can list your domains and change nothing, and your main login is never shared. Credentials are encrypted at rest, and Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests. If you would rather not, paste or CSV import needs no credentials at all.

Can I track multiple nicmanager accounts?

Yes. Add one connection per nicmanager account, each with its own friendly name. Personal and business logins, sub-accounts, and client accounts all sit side by side in one dashboard.

Does Lemon Domains renew my nicmanager domains?

No. Renewal still happens at nicmanager. Lemon Domains tracks expiry dates and auto-renew status so you know exactly when to act, but the renewal button stays at nicmanager.

Can AI assistants query my nicmanager domains?

Yes. The Lemon Domains MCP server lets Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and any MCP client that can send a Bearer header query your full portfolio, including nicmanager domains, in plain English. Choose read-only or read-and-write access for each token.
