Connect NiceNIC to Lemon Domains

Three steps: create a read-only API key at NiceNIC, add it to Lemon Domains, and your domains sync once a day from then on. Connect as many NiceNIC accounts as you have.

Step 1

Create a read-only API key at NiceNIC

Give it the least access you can

NiceNIC has one API secret per account, limited to the IP addresses you authorize. Lemon Domains only ever calls domain_list with it.

Who can use the API

Any NiceNIC account can use the reseller API after setting an API secret and authorized IPs.

  1. 1Sign in to NiceNIC and open API Settings in your account.
  2. 2Add the Lemon Domains IP address shown on this page to the authorized IPs and save.
  3. 3Create or copy your API secret.
  4. 4Enter your NiceNIC username and the API secret in the fields in Lemon Domains.

Open NiceNIC API settings

Step 2

Add it to Lemon Domains

  1. 1Sign in to Lemon Domains (it's free), open Connections and choose NiceNIC.
  2. 2Give the connection a friendly name, like “NiceNIC personal” or “NiceNIC clients”. Connect each NiceNIC account separately.
  3. 3Paste your username and api secret.
  4. 4Click Test connection. Lemon Domains checks the API key and shows how many domains it can see, without saving anything.
  5. 5Tick the checkbox to confirm you understand the risks, pick the project new domains go into, and click Connect and import. Your domains appear straight away and sync once a day after that.
Step 3

What Lemon Domains reads

Synced once a day
  • Domain names (including internationalised names)
  • Status, such as active, expired or pending transfer
  • Expiry and registration dates
  • Nameservers
Read-only by design

Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests to NiceNIC: each integration has a fixed list of read-only calls it may make, so it never renews, transfers or changes a domain. Your API key is encrypted at rest and never shown again.

If something goes wrong

NiceNIC rejects the API key
Copy it again with no spaces at either end. Some registrars only show the secret once, so create a new key if you didn't save it.
NiceNIC rejects calls from Lemon Domains' IP address
Lemon Domains connects from 2.31.94.66. Add it to the API key's allowed IPs at NiceNIC.
Some domains are missing
Make sure the API key belongs to the NiceNIC account (or sub-account) that holds those domains. Connect each account separately.

Rather not use an API key? Import by paste or CSV

Copy your list from the NiceNIC portal, paste it into Lemon Domains, and you're done. Re-import any time to refresh.

Open NiceNIC

  1. 1Open your NiceNIC account at nicenic.net and go to the domain list.
  2. 2If the list paginates, switch to "show all" or the largest page size so every NiceNIC domain is visible.
  3. 3Copy the visible list, or export to CSV if NiceNIC offers it from the account area.
  4. 4In Lemon Domains, click Import, paste the list or upload the CSV, and map the columns. Lemon Domains previews everything before it commits.
  5. 5Give the registrar account a friendly label (for example "NiceNIC personal" or "NiceNIC client work") so sub-accounts stay distinct.
Heads up
  • Paste or CSV import needs no NiceNIC credentials at all.
  • NiceNIC sub-accounts are supported. Add one Lemon Domains entry per NiceNIC account with its own label.

How NiceNIC fits into Lemon Domains

Pulled into one dashboard

Every NiceNIC domain you own sits next to your domains from every other registrar. Same list, same search.

Expiry tracking, finally

Lemon Domains shows live expiry countdowns and filters by expiry window (under 30 days, 31-90 days, later) for every NiceNIC domain so you stop missing renewals.

Daily sync by API

Connect NiceNIC with an API key and Lemon Domains syncs your domains once a day. Hit Sync now whenever you want a fresh copy.

Why Lemon Domains beats the NiceNIC dashboard

  • Every NiceNIC domain in one sortable list, no pagination
  • Live expiry countdowns and 30 and 90 day expiry windows, not just a date column
  • Project folders for client work, brands, and experiments
  • Multiple NiceNIC accounts with friendly labels, side by side
  • Daily sync by API, plus a Sync now button
  • Unified view with GoDaddy, Porkbun, Namecheap, and every other registrar
  • MCP server access so your AI assistant can answer NiceNIC portfolio questions

Ask your AI assistant about your NiceNIC domains

Connect the Lemon Domains MCP server to Claude Code, Cursor, or any MCP client that can send a Bearer header. "What NiceNIC domains do I have expiring this month?" becomes a one-line question.

NiceNIC + Lemon Domains FAQ

Does Lemon Domains support NiceNIC domains?

Yes. Connect your NiceNIC account with an API key and Lemon Domains syncs your domains automatically once a day. Any NiceNIC account can use the reseller API after setting an API secret and authorized IPs. You can also import by pasting your domain list from the NiceNIC dashboard or uploading a CSV export. Multiple NiceNIC accounts are supported with friendly labels so sub-accounts stay distinct in the unified portfolio.

How is this different from the NiceNIC dashboard?

NiceNIC is an established registrar, but its built-in dashboard is account-scoped and not designed for portfolio thinking. Lemon Domains puts every NiceNIC domain into one searchable, sortable list, adds live expiry countdowns, expiry window filters (under 30 days, 31-90 days, later), and project folders, and unifies NiceNIC with every other registrar you use.

Do I need to share my NiceNIC password?

No. Connecting by API uses an API key you create at NiceNIC, not your password. NiceNIC has one API secret per account, limited to the IP addresses you authorize. Lemon Domains only ever calls domain_list with it. Keys are encrypted at rest, and Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests. Or skip the API and paste your list or upload a CSV.

Can I track multiple NiceNIC accounts?

Yes. Add one connection per NiceNIC account, each with its own friendly name. Personal and business logins, sub-accounts, and client accounts all sit side by side in one dashboard.

Does Lemon Domains renew my NiceNIC domains?

No. Renewal still happens at NiceNIC. Lemon Domains tracks expiry dates and auto-renew status so you know exactly when to act, but the renewal button stays at NiceNIC.

Can AI assistants query my NiceNIC domains?

Yes. The Lemon Domains MCP server lets Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and any MCP client that can send a Bearer header query your full portfolio, including NiceNIC domains, in plain English. Choose read-only or read-and-write access for each token.
