Connect NameSilo to Lemon Domains

Three steps: create a read-only API key at NameSilo, add it to Lemon Domains, and your domains sync once a day from then on. Connect as many NameSilo accounts as you have.

Step 1

Create a read-only API key at NameSilo

Give it the least access you can

Generate a read-only key in API Manager. A read-only key can list domains but cannot renew, transfer or change them.

  1. 1Sign in to NameSilo and open Account → API Manager.
  2. 2Tick “Generate read-only key” so the key cannot change anything.
  3. 3If you limit the key to certain IP addresses, allow the Lemon Domains IP address shown on the connect page.
  4. 4Accept the terms, generate the key and copy it. NameSilo only shows it once.

Open NameSilo API settings

Step 2

Add it to Lemon Domains

  1. 1Sign in to Lemon Domains (it's free), open Connections and choose NameSilo.
  2. 2Give the connection a friendly name, like “NameSilo personal” or “NameSilo clients”. Connect each NameSilo account separately.
  3. 3Paste your api key.
  4. 4Click Test connection. Lemon Domains checks the API key and shows how many domains it can see, without saving anything.
  5. 5Tick the checkbox to confirm you understand the risks, pick the project new domains go into, and click Connect and import. Your domains appear straight away and sync once a day after that.
Step 3

What Lemon Domains reads

Synced once a day
  • Domain names (including internationalised names)
  • Status, such as active, expired or pending transfer
  • Expiry and registration dates
  • Whether auto-renew is on
  • Nameservers
  • Transfer lock
  • WHOIS privacy
Read-only by design

Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests to NameSilo: each integration has a fixed list of read-only calls it may make, so it never renews, transfers or changes a domain. Your API key is encrypted at rest and never shown again.

If something goes wrong

NameSilo rejects the API key
Copy it again with no spaces at either end. Some registrars only show the secret once, so create a new key if you didn't save it.
The key has an IP restriction
Lemon Domains connects from 2.31.94.66. Add it to the API key's allowed IPs, or remove the restriction.
Some domains are missing
Make sure the API key belongs to the NameSilo account (or sub-account) that holds those domains. Connect each account separately.

Rather not use an API key? Import by paste or CSV

Copy your list from the NameSilo portal, paste it into Lemon Domains, and you're done. Re-import any time to refresh.

Open your NameSilo domain list

  1. 1Open your NameSilo account at namesilo.com and go to the domain list.
  2. 2If the list paginates, switch to "show all" or the largest page size so every NameSilo domain is visible.
  3. 3Copy the visible list, or export to CSV if NameSilo offers it from the account area.
  4. 4In Lemon Domains, click Import, paste the list or upload the CSV, and map the columns. Lemon Domains previews everything before it commits.
  5. 5Give the registrar account a friendly label (for example "NameSilo personal" or "NameSilo client work") so sub-accounts stay distinct.
Heads up
  • Paste or CSV import needs no NameSilo credentials at all.
  • NameSilo sub-accounts are supported. Add one Lemon Domains entry per NameSilo account with its own label.

How NameSilo fits into Lemon Domains

Pulled into one dashboard

Every NameSilo domain you own sits next to your domains from every other registrar. Same list, same search.

Expiry tracking, finally

Lemon Domains shows live expiry countdowns and filters by expiry window (under 30 days, 31-90 days, later) for every NameSilo domain so you stop missing renewals.

Daily sync by API

Connect NameSilo with an API key and Lemon Domains syncs your domains once a day. Hit Sync now whenever you want a fresh copy.

Why Lemon Domains beats the NameSilo dashboard

  • Every NameSilo domain in one sortable list, no pagination
  • Live expiry countdowns and 30 and 90 day expiry windows, not just a date column
  • Project folders for client work, brands, and experiments
  • Multiple NameSilo accounts with friendly labels, side by side
  • Daily sync by API, plus a Sync now button
  • Unified view with GoDaddy, Porkbun, Namecheap, and every other registrar
  • MCP server access so your AI assistant can answer NameSilo portfolio questions

Ask your AI assistant about your NameSilo domains

Connect the Lemon Domains MCP server to Claude Code, Cursor, or any MCP client that can send a Bearer header. "What NameSilo domains do I have expiring this month?" becomes a one-line question.

NameSilo + Lemon Domains FAQ

Does Lemon Domains support NameSilo domains?

Yes. Connect your NameSilo account with an API key and Lemon Domains syncs your domains automatically once a day. You can also import by pasting your domain list from the NameSilo dashboard or uploading a CSV export. Multiple NameSilo accounts are supported with friendly labels so sub-accounts stay distinct in the unified portfolio.

How is this different from the NameSilo dashboard?

NameSilo has been registering domains since 2010 with around 5 million domains under management, but its built-in dashboard is account-scoped and not designed for portfolio thinking. Lemon Domains puts every NameSilo domain into one searchable, sortable list, adds live expiry countdowns, expiry window filters (under 30 days, 31-90 days, later), and project folders, and unifies NameSilo with every other registrar you use.

Do I need to share my NameSilo password?

No. Connecting by API uses an API key you create at NameSilo, not your password. Generate a read-only key in API Manager. A read-only key can list domains but cannot renew, transfer or change them. Keys are encrypted at rest, and Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests. Or skip the API and paste your list or upload a CSV.

Can I track multiple NameSilo accounts?

Yes. Add one connection per NameSilo account, each with its own friendly name. Personal and business logins, sub-accounts, and client accounts all sit side by side in one dashboard.

Does Lemon Domains renew my NameSilo domains?

No. Renewal still happens at NameSilo. Lemon Domains tracks expiry dates and auto-renew status so you know exactly when to act, but the renewal button stays at NameSilo.

Can AI assistants query my NameSilo domains?

Yes. The Lemon Domains MCP server lets Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and any MCP client that can send a Bearer header query your full portfolio, including NameSilo domains, in plain English. Choose read-only or read-and-write access for each token.

Stop juggling NameSilo tabs.
