Connect NameBright to Lemon Domains
Three steps: create a read-only API key at NameBright, add it to Lemon Domains, and your domains sync once a day from then on. Connect as many NameBright accounts as you have.
Create a read-only API key at NameBright
NameBright API applications have no read-only scope. Create one just for Lemon Domains so you can remove it on its own; Lemon Domains only ever lists your domains with it.
NameBright turns on API access for an account on request. Once it is on, any number of API applications can be created.
- 1If API Management is not in your NameBright account yet, ask NameBright support to turn on API access.
- 2Sign in to NameBright and open My Account → API Management.
- 3Create an API application (for example “LemonDomains”) and add the Lemon Domains IP address shown on this page to its IP whitelist.
- 4Copy the application secret NameBright shows, then enter your account login, the application name and the secret in Lemon Domains.
Add it to Lemon Domains
- 1Sign in to Lemon Domains (it's free), open Connections and choose NameBright.
- 2Give the connection a friendly name, like “NameBright personal” or “NameBright clients”. Connect each NameBright account separately.
- 3Paste your account login, api application name and application secret.
- 4Click Test connection. Lemon Domains checks the API key and shows how many domains it can see, without saving anything.
- 5Tick the checkbox to confirm you understand the risks, pick the project new domains go into, and click Connect and import. Your domains appear straight away and sync once a day after that.
What Lemon Domains reads
- Domain names (including internationalised names)
- Status, such as active, expired or pending transfer
- Expiry and registration dates
- Whether auto-renew is on
- Transfer lock
- WHOIS privacy
Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests to NameBright: each integration has a fixed list of read-only calls it may make, so it never renews, transfers or changes a domain. Your API key is encrypted at rest and never shown again.
If something goes wrong
- NameBright rejects the API key
- Copy it again with no spaces at either end. Some registrars only show the secret once, so create a new key if you didn't save it.
- NameBright rejects calls from Lemon Domains' IP address
- Lemon Domains connects from 2.31.94.66. Add it to the API key's allowed IPs at NameBright.
- Some domains are missing
- Make sure the API key belongs to the NameBright account (or sub-account) that holds those domains. Connect each account separately.
Rather not use an API key? Import by paste or CSV
Copy your list from the NameBright portal, paste it into Lemon Domains, and you're done. Re-import any time to refresh.
Open your NameBright domain list
- 1Open your NameBright account at namebright.com and go to the domain list.
- 2If the list paginates, switch to "show all" or the largest page size so every NameBright domain is visible.
- 3Copy the visible list, or export to CSV if NameBright offers it from the account area.
- 4In Lemon Domains, click Import, paste the list or upload the CSV, and map the columns. Lemon Domains previews everything before it commits.
- 5Give the registrar account a friendly label (for example "NameBright personal" or "NameBright client work") so sub-accounts stay distinct.
- Paste or CSV import needs no NameBright credentials at all.
- NameBright sub-accounts are supported. Add one Lemon Domains entry per NameBright account with its own label.

NameBright has been registering domains since 2010 with around 1 million domains under management, but its built-in dashboard is account-scoped and not designed for portfolio thinking. Lemon Domains puts every NameBright domain into one searchable, sortable list, adds live expiry countdowns, expiry window filters (under 30 days, 31-90 days, later), and project folders, and unifies NameBright with every other registrar you use.
Do I need to share my NameBright password?
No. Connecting by API uses an API key you create at NameBright, not your password. NameBright API applications have no read-only scope. Create one just for Lemon Domains so you can remove it on its own; Lemon Domains only ever lists your domains with it. Keys are encrypted at rest, and Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests. Or skip the API and paste your list or upload a CSV.
Can I track multiple NameBright accounts?
Yes. Add one connection per NameBright account, each with its own friendly name. Personal and business logins, sub-accounts, and client accounts all sit side by side in one dashboard.
Does Lemon Domains renew my NameBright domains?
No. Renewal still happens at NameBright. Lemon Domains tracks expiry dates and auto-renew status so you know exactly when to act, but the renewal button stays at NameBright.
