Connect Key-Systems to Lemon Domains

Three steps: create a read-only API login at Key-Systems, add it to Lemon Domains, and your domains sync once a day from then on. Connect as many Key-Systems accounts as you have.

Step 1

Create a read-only API login at Key-Systems

Give it the least access you can

A role user limited to the QueryDomainList command. It can list your domains and nothing else, and the account's own password is never shared.

Who can use the API

API access comes with an RRPproxy / CentralNic Reseller account.

  1. 1Sign in to the RRPproxy (CentralNic Reseller) control panel.
  2. 2Under your account settings, create a role user (restricted user) for Lemon Domains and allow it only the QueryDomainList command.
  3. 3If you limit the key to certain IP addresses, allow the Lemon Domains IP address shown on the connect page.
  4. 4Enter your account login, the role user's name and the role user's password in Lemon Domains.

Open Key-Systems API settings

Step 2

Add it to Lemon Domains

  1. 1Sign in to Lemon Domains (it's free), open Connections and choose Key-Systems.
  2. 2Give the connection a friendly name, like “Key-Systems personal” or “Key-Systems clients”. Connect each Key-Systems account separately.
  3. 3Paste your rrpproxy login and password.
  4. 4Click Test connection. Lemon Domains checks the API login and shows how many domains it can see, without saving anything.
  5. 5Tick the checkbox to confirm you understand the risks, pick the project new domains go into, and click Connect and import. Your domains appear straight away and sync once a day after that.
Step 3

What Lemon Domains reads

Synced once a day
  • Domain names (including internationalised names)
  • Status, such as active, expired or pending transfer
  • Expiry and registration dates
  • Whether auto-renew is on
  • Nameservers
  • Transfer lock
Read-only by design

Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests to Key-Systems: each integration has a fixed list of read-only calls it may make, so it never renews, transfers or changes a domain. Your API login is encrypted at rest and never shown again.

If something goes wrong

Key-Systems rejects the API login
Copy it again with no spaces at either end. Check the login is the API user, not a different account.
The key has an IP restriction
Lemon Domains connects from 2.31.94.66. Add it to the API login's allowed IPs, or remove the restriction.
Some domains are missing
Make sure the API login belongs to the Key-Systems account (or sub-account) that holds those domains. Connect each account separately.

Rather not use an API login? Import by paste or CSV

Copy your list from the Key-Systems portal, paste it into Lemon Domains, and you're done. Re-import any time to refresh.

Open RRPproxy

  1. 1Open your Key-Systems account at key-systems.net and go to the domain list.
  2. 2If the list paginates, switch to "show all" or the largest page size so every Key-Systems domain is visible.
  3. 3Copy the visible list, or export to CSV if Key-Systems offers it from the account area.
  4. 4In Lemon Domains, click Import, paste the list or upload the CSV, and map the columns. Lemon Domains previews everything before it commits.
  5. 5Give the registrar account a friendly label (for example "Key-Systems personal" or "Key-Systems client work") so sub-accounts stay distinct.
Heads up
  • Paste or CSV import needs no Key-Systems credentials at all.
  • Key-Systems sub-accounts are supported. Add one Lemon Domains entry per Key-Systems account with its own label.

How Key-Systems fits into Lemon Domains

Pulled into one dashboard

Every Key-Systems domain you own sits next to your domains from every other registrar. Same list, same search.

Expiry tracking, finally

Lemon Domains shows live expiry countdowns and filters by expiry window (under 30 days, 31-90 days, later) for every Key-Systems domain so you stop missing renewals.

Daily sync by API

Connect Key-Systems with its API login and Lemon Domains syncs your domains once a day. Hit Sync now whenever you want a fresh copy.

Why Lemon Domains beats the Key-Systems dashboard

  • Every Key-Systems domain in one sortable list, no pagination
  • Live expiry countdowns and 30 and 90 day expiry windows, not just a date column
  • Project folders for client work, brands, and experiments
  • Multiple Key-Systems accounts with friendly labels, side by side
  • Daily sync by API, plus a Sync now button
  • Unified view with GoDaddy, Porkbun, Namecheap, and every other registrar
  • MCP server access so your AI assistant can answer Key-Systems portfolio questions

Ask your AI assistant about your Key-Systems domains

Connect the Lemon Domains MCP server to Claude Code, Cursor, or any MCP client that can send a Bearer header. "What Key-Systems domains do I have expiring this month?" becomes a one-line question.

Key-Systems + Lemon Domains FAQ

Does Lemon Domains support Key-Systems domains?

Yes. Connect your Key-Systems account with its API login and Lemon Domains syncs your domains automatically once a day. API access comes with an RRPproxy / CentralNic Reseller account. You can also import by pasting your domain list from the Key-Systems dashboard or uploading a CSV export. Multiple Key-Systems accounts are supported with friendly labels so sub-accounts stay distinct in the unified portfolio.

How is this different from the Key-Systems dashboard?

Key-Systems has been registering domains since 1998 with around 5 million domains under management, but its built-in dashboard is account-scoped and not designed for portfolio thinking. Lemon Domains puts every Key-Systems domain into one searchable, sortable list, adds live expiry countdowns, expiry window filters (under 30 days, 31-90 days, later), and project folders, and unifies Key-Systems with every other registrar you use.

Do I need to share my Key-Systems password?

Only if you connect by API. Key-Systems's API signs in with a username and password rather than an API key. A role user limited to the QueryDomainList command. It can list your domains and nothing else, and the account's own password is never shared. Credentials are encrypted at rest, and Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests. If you would rather not, paste or CSV import needs no credentials at all.

Can I track multiple Key-Systems accounts?

Yes. Add one connection per Key-Systems account, each with its own friendly name. Personal and business logins, sub-accounts, and client accounts all sit side by side in one dashboard.

Does Lemon Domains renew my Key-Systems domains?

No. Renewal still happens at Key-Systems. Lemon Domains tracks expiry dates and auto-renew status so you know exactly when to act, but the renewal button stays at Key-Systems.

Can AI assistants query my Key-Systems domains?

Yes. The Lemon Domains MCP server lets Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and any MCP client that can send a Bearer header query your full portfolio, including Key-Systems domains, in plain English. Choose read-only or read-and-write access for each token.
