Connect INWX to Lemon Domains
Three steps: create a read-only API login at INWX, add it to Lemon Domains, and your domains sync once a day from then on. Connect as many INWX accounts as you have.
Create a read-only API login at INWX
INWX has no API keys or read-only tokens: the API logs in with a username and password. Use a dedicated sub-account limited to viewing domains, so the main account's password and 2FA are never shared.
- 1Sign in to INWX. We recommend creating a separate sub-account for Lemon Domains in your account settings and giving it only the right to view domains, if your account offers that.
- 2Leave two-factor authentication off for that sub-account, or note its 2FA shared secret (the text behind the QR code) when you set 2FA up.
- 3Enter the sub-account's username and password in Lemon Domains. INWX has no API keys; the API uses the normal login.
Add it to Lemon Domains
- 1Sign in to Lemon Domains (it's free), open Connections and choose INWX.
- 2Give the connection a friendly name, like “INWX personal” or “INWX clients”. Connect each INWX account separately.
- 3Paste your inwx username and password.
- 4Click Test connection. Lemon Domains checks the API login and shows how many domains it can see, without saving anything.
- 5Tick the checkbox to confirm you understand the risks, pick the project new domains go into, and click Connect and import. Your domains appear straight away and sync once a day after that.
What Lemon Domains reads
- Domain names (including internationalised names)
- Status, such as active, expired or pending transfer
- Expiry and registration dates
- Whether auto-renew is on
- Nameservers
- Transfer lock
Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests to INWX: each integration has a fixed list of read-only calls it may make, so it never renews, transfers or changes a domain. Your API login is encrypted at rest and never shown again.
If something goes wrong
- INWX rejects the API login
- Copy it again with no spaces at either end. Check the login is the API user, not a different account.
- The key has an IP restriction
- Lemon Domains connects from 2.31.94.66. Add it to the API login's allowed IPs, or remove the restriction.
- Some domains are missing
- Make sure the API login belongs to the INWX account (or sub-account) that holds those domains. Connect each account separately.
Rather not use an API login? Import by paste or CSV
Copy your list from the INWX portal, paste it into Lemon Domains, and you're done. Re-import any time to refresh.
- 1Open your INWX account at inwx.com and go to the domain list.
- 2If the list paginates, switch to "show all" or the largest page size so every INWX domain is visible.
- 3Copy the visible list, or export to CSV if INWX offers it from the account area.
- 4In Lemon Domains, click Import, paste the list or upload the CSV, and map the columns. Lemon Domains previews everything before it commits.
- 5Give the registrar account a friendly label (for example "INWX personal" or "INWX client work") so sub-accounts stay distinct.
- Paste or CSV import needs no INWX credentials at all.
- INWX sub-accounts are supported. Add one Lemon Domains entry per INWX account with its own label.

Yes. Connect your INWX account with its API login and Lemon Domains syncs your domains automatically once a day. How is this different from the INWX dashboard?
INWX has been registering domains since 2004 with around 500 thousand domains under management, but its built-in dashboard is account-scoped and not designed for portfolio thinking. Lemon Domains puts every INWX domain into one searchable, sortable list, adds live expiry countdowns, expiry window filters (under 30 days, 31-90 days, later), and project folders, and unifies INWX with every other registrar you use.
Do I need to share my INWX password?
Only if you connect by API. INWX's API signs in with a username and password rather than an API key. INWX has no API keys or read-only tokens: the API logs in with a username and password. Use a dedicated sub-account limited to viewing domains, so the main account's password and 2FA are never shared. Credentials are encrypted at rest, and Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests. If you would rather not, paste or CSV import needs no credentials at all.
Can I track multiple INWX accounts?
Yes. Add one connection per INWX account, each with its own friendly name. Personal and business logins, sub-accounts, and client accounts all sit side by side in one dashboard.
Does Lemon Domains renew my INWX domains?
No. Renewal still happens at INWX. Lemon Domains tracks expiry dates and auto-renew status so you know exactly when to act, but the renewal button stays at INWX.
Can AI assistants query my INWX domains?
