Connect alwaysdata to Lemon Domains
Three steps: create a read-only API key at alwaysdata, add it to Lemon Domains, and your domains sync once a day from then on. Connect as many alwaysdata accounts as you have.
Create a read-only API key at alwaysdata
alwaysdata tokens have the same permissions as the profile they belong to, so they cannot be limited to read-only. alwaysdata recommends one token per application: create one just for Lemon Domains so you can delete it on its own. Lemon Domains only ever lists domains.
Generating a token needs two-factor authentication on your alwaysdata profile.
- 1Sign in to the alwaysdata administration and open Profile → Tokens. Generating a token needs two-factor authentication turned on for your profile.
- 2Add a token named “Lemon Domains”.
- 3If you limit the key to certain IP addresses, allow the Lemon Domains IP address shown on the connect page.
- 4Copy the token and paste it in Lemon Domains, with the account name if your profile manages more than one account.
Add it to Lemon Domains
- 1Sign in to Lemon Domains (it's free), open Connections and choose alwaysdata.
- 2Give the connection a friendly name, like “alwaysdata personal” or “alwaysdata clients”. Connect each alwaysdata account separately.
- 3Paste your api token.
- 4Click Test connection. Lemon Domains checks the API key and shows how many domains it can see, without saving anything.
- 5Tick the checkbox to confirm you understand the risks, pick the project new domains go into, and click Connect and import. Your domains appear straight away and sync once a day after that.
What Lemon Domains reads
- Domain names (including internationalised names)
- Status, such as active, expired or pending transfer
- Expiry and registration dates
- Whether auto-renew is on
Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests to alwaysdata: each integration has a fixed list of read-only calls it may make, so it never renews, transfers or changes a domain. Your API key is encrypted at rest and never shown again.
If something goes wrong
- alwaysdata rejects the API key
- Copy it again with no spaces at either end. Some registrars only show the secret once, so create a new key if you didn't save it.
- The key has an IP restriction
- Lemon Domains connects from 2.31.94.66. Add it to the API key's allowed IPs, or remove the restriction.
- Some domains are missing
- Make sure the API key belongs to the alwaysdata account (or sub-account) that holds those domains. Connect each account separately.
Rather not use an API key? Import by paste or CSV
Copy your list from the alwaysdata portal, paste it into Lemon Domains, and you're done. Re-import any time to refresh.
Open your alwaysdata administration
- 1Open your alwaysdata account at alwaysdata.com and go to the domain list.
- 2If the list paginates, switch to "show all" or the largest page size so every alwaysdata domain is visible.
- 3Copy the visible list, or export to CSV if alwaysdata offers it from the account area.
- 4In Lemon Domains, click Import, paste the list or upload the CSV, and map the columns. Lemon Domains previews everything before it commits.
- 5Give the registrar account a friendly label (for example "alwaysdata personal" or "alwaysdata client work") so sub-accounts stay distinct.
- Paste or CSV import needs no alwaysdata credentials at all.
- alwaysdata sub-accounts are supported. Add one Lemon Domains entry per alwaysdata account with its own label.
How alwaysdata fits into Lemon Domains
Pulled into one dashboard
Every alwaysdata domain you own sits next to your domains from every other registrar. Same list, same search.
Expiry tracking, finally
Lemon Domains shows live expiry countdowns and filters by expiry window (under 30 days, 31-90 days, later) for every alwaysdata domain so you stop missing renewals.
Daily sync by API
Connect alwaysdata with an API key and Lemon Domains syncs your domains once a day. Hit Sync now whenever you want a fresh copy.
Why Lemon Domains beats the alwaysdata dashboard
- Every alwaysdata domain in one sortable list, no pagination
- Live expiry countdowns and 30 and 90 day expiry windows, not just a date column
- Project folders for client work, brands, and experiments
- Multiple alwaysdata accounts with friendly labels, side by side
- Daily sync by API, plus a Sync now button
- Unified view with GoDaddy, Porkbun, Namecheap, and every other registrar
- MCP server access so your AI assistant can answer alwaysdata portfolio questions
Ask your AI assistant about your alwaysdata domains
Connect the Lemon Domains MCP server to Claude Code, Cursor, or any MCP client that can send a Bearer header. "What alwaysdata domains do I have expiring this month?" becomes a one-line question.
alwaysdata + Lemon Domains FAQ
Does Lemon Domains support alwaysdata domains?
Yes. Connect your alwaysdata account with an API key and Lemon Domains syncs your domains automatically once a day. Generating a token needs two-factor authentication on your alwaysdata profile. You can also import by pasting your domain list from the alwaysdata dashboard or uploading a CSV export. Multiple alwaysdata accounts are supported with friendly labels so sub-accounts stay distinct in the unified portfolio.
How is this different from the alwaysdata dashboard?
alwaysdata has been registering domains since 2006, but its built-in dashboard is account-scoped and not designed for portfolio thinking. Lemon Domains puts every alwaysdata domain into one searchable, sortable list, adds live expiry countdowns, expiry window filters (under 30 days, 31-90 days, later), and project folders, and unifies alwaysdata with every other registrar you use.
Do I need to share my alwaysdata password?
No. Connecting by API uses an API key you create at alwaysdata, not your password. alwaysdata tokens have the same permissions as the profile they belong to, so they cannot be limited to read-only. alwaysdata recommends one token per application: create one just for Lemon Domains so you can delete it on its own. Lemon Domains only ever lists domains. Keys are encrypted at rest, and Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests. Or skip the API and paste your list or upload a CSV.
Can I track multiple alwaysdata accounts?
Yes. Add one connection per alwaysdata account, each with its own friendly name. Personal and business logins, sub-accounts, and client accounts all sit side by side in one dashboard.
Does Lemon Domains renew my alwaysdata domains?
No. Renewal still happens at alwaysdata. Lemon Domains tracks expiry dates and auto-renew status so you know exactly when to act, but the renewal button stays at alwaysdata.
Can AI assistants query my alwaysdata domains?
Yes. The Lemon Domains MCP server lets Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and any MCP client that can send a Bearer header query your full portfolio, including alwaysdata domains, in plain English. Choose read-only or read-and-write access for each token.
