Connect Alibaba Cloud to Lemon Domains
Three steps: create a read-only API key at Alibaba Cloud, add it to Lemon Domains, and your domains sync once a day from then on. Connect as many Alibaba Cloud accounts as you have.
Create a read-only API key at Alibaba Cloud
A RAM user with only AliyunDomainReadOnlyAccess, or narrower, a custom policy allowing just domain:QueryDomainList: {"Version":"1","Statement":[{"Effect":"Allow","Action":["domain:QueryDomainList"],"Resource":"*"}]}
- 1In the Alibaba Cloud console, open RAM → Users and create a user named “lemon-domains” with “Using permanent AccessKey to access” (OpenAPI access) only.
- 2Grant it the system policy AliyunDomainReadOnlyAccess, or a custom policy that allows only listing domains: {"Version":"1","Statement":[{"Effect":"Allow","Action":["domain:QueryDomainList"],"Resource":"*"}]}
- 3Create an AccessKey for the user and copy the AccessKey ID and secret. The secret is only shown once.
Add it to Lemon Domains
- 1Sign in to Lemon Domains (it's free), open Connections and choose Alibaba Cloud.
- 2Give the connection a friendly name, like “Alibaba Cloud personal” or “Alibaba Cloud clients”. Connect each Alibaba Cloud account separately.
- 3Paste your accesskey id and accesskey secret.
- 4Click Test connection. Lemon Domains checks the API key and shows how many domains it can see, without saving anything.
- 5Tick the checkbox to confirm you understand the risks, pick the project new domains go into, and click Connect and import. Your domains appear straight away and sync once a day after that.
What Lemon Domains reads
- Domain names (including internationalised names)
- Status, such as active, expired or pending transfer
- Expiry and registration dates
- Whether auto-renew is on
- Nameservers
Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests to Alibaba Cloud: each integration has a fixed list of read-only calls it may make, so it never renews, transfers or changes a domain. Your API key is encrypted at rest and never shown again.
If something goes wrong
- Alibaba Cloud rejects the API key
- Copy it again with no spaces at either end. Some registrars only show the secret once, so create a new key if you didn't save it.
- The key has an IP restriction
- Lemon Domains connects from 2.31.94.66. Add it to the API key's allowed IPs, or remove the restriction.
- Some domains are missing
- Make sure the API key belongs to the Alibaba Cloud account (or sub-account) that holds those domains. Connect each account separately.
Rather not use an API key? Import by paste or CSV
Copy your list from the Alibaba Cloud portal, paste it into Lemon Domains, and you're done. Re-import any time to refresh.
Open your Alibaba Cloud domains
- 1Open your Alibaba Cloud account at alibabacloud.com and go to the domain list.
- 2If the list paginates, switch to "show all" or the largest page size so every Alibaba Cloud domain is visible.
- 3Copy the visible list, or export to CSV if Alibaba Cloud offers it from the account area.
- 4In Lemon Domains, click Import, paste the list or upload the CSV, and map the columns. Lemon Domains previews everything before it commits.
- 5Give the registrar account a friendly label (for example "Alibaba Cloud personal" or "Alibaba Cloud client work") so sub-accounts stay distinct.
- Paste or CSV import needs no Alibaba Cloud credentials at all.
- Alibaba Cloud sub-accounts are supported. Add one Lemon Domains entry per Alibaba Cloud account with its own label.
How Alibaba Cloud fits into Lemon Domains
Pulled into one dashboard
Every Alibaba Cloud domain you own sits next to your domains from every other registrar. Same list, same search.
Expiry tracking, finally
Lemon Domains shows live expiry countdowns and filters by expiry window (under 30 days, 31-90 days, later) for every Alibaba Cloud domain so you stop missing renewals.
Daily sync by API
Connect Alibaba Cloud with an API key and Lemon Domains syncs your domains once a day. Hit Sync now whenever you want a fresh copy.
Why Lemon Domains beats the Alibaba Cloud dashboard

- Project folders for client work, brands, and experiments
- Multiple Alibaba Cloud accounts with friendly labels, side by side
- Daily sync by API, plus a Sync now button
- Unified view with GoDaddy, Porkbun, Namecheap, and every other registrar
- MCP server access so your AI assistant can answer Alibaba Cloud portfolio questions
Ask your AI assistant about your Alibaba Cloud domains
Connect the Lemon Domains MCP server to Claude Code, Cursor, or any MCP client that can send a Bearer header. "What Alibaba Cloud domains do I have expiring this month?" becomes a one-line question.
Alibaba Cloud + Lemon Domains FAQ
Does Lemon Domains support Alibaba Cloud domains?
Yes. Connect your Alibaba Cloud account with an API key and Lemon Domains syncs your domains automatically once a day. You can also import by pasting your domain list from the Alibaba Cloud dashboard or uploading a CSV export. Multiple Alibaba Cloud accounts are supported with friendly labels so sub-accounts stay distinct in the unified portfolio.
How is this different from the Alibaba Cloud dashboard?
Alibaba Cloud has been registering domains since 2009 with around 20 million domains under management, but its built-in dashboard is account-scoped and not designed for portfolio thinking. Lemon Domains puts every Alibaba Cloud domain into one searchable, sortable list, adds live expiry countdowns, expiry window filters (under 30 days, 31-90 days, later), and project folders, and unifies Alibaba Cloud with every other registrar you use.
Do I need to share my Alibaba Cloud password?
No. Connecting by API uses an API key you create at Alibaba Cloud, not your password. A RAM user with only AliyunDomainReadOnlyAccess, or narrower, a custom policy allowing just domain:QueryDomainList: {"Version":"1","Statement":[{"Effect":"Allow","Action":["domain:QueryDomainList"],"Resource":"*"}]} Keys are encrypted at rest, and Lemon Domains only ever sends read requests. Or skip the API and paste your list or upload a CSV.
Can I track multiple Alibaba Cloud accounts?
Yes. Add one connection per Alibaba Cloud account, each with its own friendly name. Personal and business logins, sub-accounts, and client accounts all sit side by side in one dashboard.
Does Lemon Domains renew my Alibaba Cloud domains?
No. Renewal still happens at Alibaba Cloud. Lemon Domains tracks expiry dates and auto-renew status so you know exactly when to act, but the renewal button stays at Alibaba Cloud.
Can AI assistants query my Alibaba Cloud domains?
Yes. The Lemon Domains MCP server lets Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and any MCP client that can send a Bearer header query your full portfolio, including Alibaba Cloud domains, in plain English. Choose read-only or read-and-write access for each token.
